Piggify and Fireball

Up until 1.8 the piggify and fireball were excellent skills that offered defence and offence at an appropriate time and level of player, but now with the 1.8 and new health generation a wizard can launch up to 7 fireballs back to back, each doing 17 damage if it hits. 17X17 is a little high for an abilitys. I'm not saying it should be removed, but maybe a sort of dice-roll should be done to reduce damage randomly on a hit or not make you burn as long.
Secondly, the skill piggify has only been cast on me 3 times, once before 1.8 in which case I dismounted after a reasonable amount of time and continued fighting happily. Now, after 1.8 the ability can be cast 3 times, with enough mana regeneration time over the 3 to cast it a fourth time. This makes fighting a enchanter almost impossible, because when unable to move or dodge, the fireballs explained above, are an automatic hit amounting to a lot of overall total damage. Again, I'm not saying it should be removed, but it should be made so that the victim at least has a chance to get a few hits in during the fight.

Piggify... I absolutly hate that skill. I have fought multiple people who have this skill and most of the time, I end up losing. You have no control of your movement what so ever and it basically makes you a sitting duck. With the pig moving around a lot, Its impossible to aim so I always end up just spamming my left click. What I do like about this skill is that I have noticed that there is a high critical hit chance. I hope the duration of piggify gets lowered, or takes more mana.

Really? 2 out of the 3 time i've been pigified i've gotten a double kill and make it out alive. (1st time done by kain and me running for my life)

I've noticed in minecraft pvp that standing still or running away causes it to seem like the other person has extended range against you. This is why when pvping I always run straight at them and just try to stay on top of them. The problem I have with piggify is that it forces me into the situation where it feels like they can hit me from much further than I can hit them causing me to end up trading 4 hits for 1 while I am on the pig. The cooldown should probably be increased a bit to disable the ability to keep someone on a pig forever.

^ That, idk why they can hit you, but you cant hit them while going backwards. And its true, for fireball being a basic skill, it does a lot of damage for little mana. Never been hit with piggify (except when fighting admins) and it seems rather stupid. The admin used it on everyone, and literally, if he wanted to, could have killed us 1 by 1 with his sword with no problem cause we all just sat there, swinging swords pointlessly. I say make it so if you are on the pig, You can kill the pig. That way, it takes skill because you have to react quick or get destroyed by fireballs, but gives you a chance to get away.

Casters have low health and very weak melee. Fireball is the only attack and it takes quite a bit of skill to hit someone with it enough times to get a kill.

I agree with Domi on that one. Fireball does do some crazy damage but it is not an easy thing to hit at a range especially with lag. Most likely the only way to hit consistently is to be goddamn awesome or to be in melee in which case you will probably lose the fight anyway due to the reason Domi described.

Yeah, I think fireball is fine how it is, the burn effect might be remove able (if you are thinking of balance issues) but fireball is like the melee attack of the caster. It's all they've got on everyone else. We cannot take this from them.

Except root + fireballs = dont need much skill to hit a non moving target, then blink away

I think this is a good thing. It takes more skill to do that, than it does to run up to someone and hit them with a sword.

This makes playing a caster class a whole new experience, and is one of my favorite concepts behind heroes.

Kris you would call that a skill combo it takes a lot more skill then smashing your left mouse button down.

You make it seem like us melee classes have a choice for a skill combo. All we have is button mashing, and we need to dodge most of the time.

No that's not it at all. He's implying that you are confusing effective combat practices with not having "skill". I'm assuming he knows the melee classes have skills too which their individual strategies depend on, but he's trying to mock you by saying all you do is hit things with your stick.

But seriously @Trok periods and commas are you friends.
