Buy it through someone who is in collage or works for an educational institute. We get crazy discounts on all Adobe software.

you can also use paint.net or GIMP. Two completely free photoshop-esq programs that are almost as good as the original. (of the two I prefer paint.net but GIMP can run on both Mac/PC)

Uhhh I used to pirate all the software I needed for my GFX needs.
I suggest either getting a keygen and pirating it (Cs5)
Or just get the official trail version of CS6 that is what I did, and I don't even have to buy it, the trail just keeps running on.

What is the reason for getting it anyway? Unless you really need it, just start out small until that product no longer fits your needs.
Start small and only upgrade when necessary.
I also suggest Gimp.

I recconmend gimp, besides the name it is a good software.

The latest version of GIMP uses a single window like PS does, so it's much easier to use and does all the same crap. I haven't found anything I can't do in GIMP that I can do in PS yet so it would definately suit your needs.

If you need something simple but more robust than mspaint, try paint.net (Windows only)

I will be useing it for my job and personal use. I also have ps elements and that kinda sucks so I want to upgrade.
Well of course If it's for your job buy it, and if your realy good at it you could make some extra money by doing speed drawings on YouTube, like Chewtoons for example.
