Note: SSS is not a guild, however, it is an “Organisation” not bound by the township mechanics (yet), and thus is covered by: “A topic for guild/organizations of Herocraft”.

Forward

If you’ve been playing on the Herocraft server for even a short time, you would have no doubt by now heard the term SSS, and you might be wondering, “Just who or what is the ‘SSS’?”

This thread aims to address that very question, as well as provide a place for us to answer any other questions you may have about our organisation that may not be covered in this post.

NOTE: Due to SSS’ recent formation, not all Members have been assigned to a section and/or division, please check to see if you have been assigned, if you have not, or you wish to transfer, then please reply to the “SSS Section & Division Assignment” thread.

SSS Rules

Due to the importance of the Rules, we thought it best to list them at the top, rather than at the bottom, so here they are, in no particular order:

· DO NOT BREAK THE SERVER RULES
Pretty obvious, if you break the server rules you’ll get banned, and then you can’t play.
· DO NOT ATTACK THOSE WE ARE ALLIED OR AT PEACE WITH
Again, pretty obvious, we have a list of our relations at the bottom, so don’t attack those we are on good terms with. There’ll probably be at least one or two groups that don’t like us, so attack them instead.
· OBEY THE CHAIN OF COMMAND
There’s a reason we have a chain of command, it makes life easier when people know what to do, the chain of command is like this (in order of importance):
o Directives from the SSS Council or SSS Dictator
o Directives from your Section’s Commander and/or SIC
o Directives from your Division Captain (if applicable)
o Directives from your King/Queen (Kingdom Based directives)
o Directives from your Mayor (Town Based directives)
o Directives from your Squad Captain (if applicable)
o Directives from your King/Queen (Non-Kingdom Based directives)
o Directives from your Mayor (Non-Town Based directives)
· MAKE SURE YOU’RE IN OUR CHAT CHANNEL
This is for your benefit, our ‘Assault’ members are trained to check the channel (using /ch who) before initiating combat to avoid killing our own members. If you’re not in it for some reason, they may kill you by accident, so always make sure you’re in it. You should also be in your section’s individual chat channel, to allow for easier communication.
· YOU MUST HAVE AN ACCOUNT ON THE HEROCRAFT FORUM
This is a no brainer, firstly, you need an account to apply to join the SSS and secondly, it’s the easiest way to contact everyone outside of game.
· BANK YOUR GOLD ONLY WITH SSS BANKS
Gold is what turns the economy around and how towns make a profit; this profit is used to pay for town upgrades and upkeep fees. As such, it is important that you bank your gold with a SSS Bank, and not that of a rival town. Due to our centralised banking system, you may bank your gold with any SSS town, as it all ends up in the one fund which pays for all our towns.

Introduction

SSS, an acronym for ‘Shinda Sekai Sensen’ (Which, in English, translates to ‘Afterlife War Battlefront’), is a (currently at least) non-game mechanic bound group based in the North of the Herocraft world. Our sole aim is to grow as large and mighty as possible, eventually hopefully achieving the level of ‘Empire’, though to be honest, we’d settle for anything that doesn’t end with us going the way of Madlum. [1]

The SSS is split into three sections, ‘Fort’, ‘Assault’ and ‘Guild’, whilst SSS, as an organisation, is controlled by the SSS Council.

The SSS is a socialistic, self-sufficient, organisation, led by an Oligarchic Council, with Sections, Divisions and Towns being Autocratic.

As an organisation, the SSS is neutral, however our ‘Assault’ section, due to its nature as a defence force, is ‘evil’ (as classified by the township regulations).

The following Org Chart displays this structure, after which more detail on the Council, Three sections and their individual divisions will be given.

Note: Due to the current size of SSS, some members may fill multiple roles within their section.

2gwt3jk.jpg

SSS – Council

The SSS council is made up of the Commanders and SICs of each of the three sections, as well as certain other “appointed” council members. They are tasked with deciding upon SSS Expansion policy, new towns, spending of SSS funds, diplomatic relations and overall running of the SSS.

In times of Crisis, the SSS Council may appoint a “Dictator” for the period of the crisis.

Council Members:
· TrinityDown (Commander of ‘Fort’)
· Danda (SIC of ‘Fort’)
· Weynard (Commander of ‘Assault’)
· Dagothagahnim (SIC of ‘Assault’)
· AussieDingbat (Commander of ‘Guild’)
· RobertWest (SIC of ‘Guild’)

SSS – Three Sections, One Mighty Power

The purpose behind splitting the group into three sections is, to make it easier for us to delegate certain responsibilities to our members, and avoid redundancy at the “Township” level.

With this in mind, each of the three sections is delegated certain responsibilities regarding the running of the SSS and the towns and ‘Guild’s we control. Whilst members will still have some duties to perform in regards to their individual towns, they are expected to fulfil their role in the section they are a part of as well.

Each of the sections is headed by a Commander, with a Second in Command (SIC) to help them oversee their section, below them are Division Captains, each which oversee a certain area of their section’s realm of responsibility.

‘Fort’ – The Brains

Commander: TrinityDown
SIC: Danda

Headquarters:Arcadia
‘Fort’ Towns: Arcadia, Olympus

Divisions:
SSS Treasury:
Division Captain: TrinityDown (Arcadia Town Banker)

SSS Recruitment:

‘Fort’, the first of the three sections, is the “Brains” behind the SSS. ‘Fort’ oversees the SSS’ Treasury, and as a result, the running of all SSS Town Banks, as well as Town Planning, Architectural Projects, Diplomacy and general SSS Recruitment.

‘Fort’ is led by TrinityDown, the founder of the SSS, with the SIC being Danda, their headquarters are in the SSS’ Capital of Arcadia, and they are currently not tasked with running any other townships.

The SSS’ Treasury refers to all financial matters of the SSS; this includes the Town Banks of SSS towns, SSS Town Upkeep and SSS Township fees. By centralising all these facilities into one overarching treasury system, our towns have access to more funds than they would have individually, and allows towns geared towards other activities to focus on them as opposed to worry about whether they’ll have enough coin to pay for their weekly town upkeep or next town size upgrade. The SSS Treasury also looks after the storage and allocation of “rarer” blocks used for architectural purposes or town size upgrades. Town bankers understand that by accepting their role they negate the ability to have “personal funds”, allowances may be made on a case by case basis (e.g. When they require the money for specialising or changing classes).

Town Planning involves scouting for sites of potential future townships, as well as helping towns design their layouts and oversee the construction of ‘required buildings’ for town size upgrades.

Architects are those SSS members with the rare ability to actually construct decent looking structures in Minecraft; they will be tasked with constructing certain buildings within SSS towns, as well as larger projects outside of SSS Town Rings to bring a bit of civilisation to the North. They are split up into separate squads, based on the SSS’ planned Kingdoms, and will mostly be responsible for architectural works within the borders of the planned Kingdom their squad is tasked with.

Diplomacy, as the name suggests, deals with our diplomatic relations with the other Towns, ‘Guild’s and groups on the Herocraft server. Be that outlining the terms of peace treaties, alliances or even the surrender terms of our enemies. They will also be tasked with preparing portfolios on other in game groups to present to the SSS Council; these portfolios will be used to help make diplomatic decisions.

SSS Recruitment is the division tasked with general recruitment drives for the SSS as a whole, they will make use of the in game recruitment channel (/ch re) to help attract newcomers to the SSS, as well as help those that wish to join by showing them the way to our towns, answering any questions they have, and by helping them join the section they’d fit into the most.

Not everyone in the world of Herocraft is friendly; this is where our second section, ‘Assault’, comes in. Tasked with the defence of the SSS’ interests, which include the safety of our towns, citizens and allies, ‘Assault’ provides the ‘Brawns’ for ‘Fort’s ‘Brains’.

‘Assault’ is led by Weynard, with the SIC being ?, their headquarters are in New Dresden, and they are currently not tasked with running any other townships.

Ev0ke is ‘Assault’s deadliest weapon ,the SSS’ ‘special forces’ , made up of members from the group of the same name from EvE Online (that one spaceship game), they are a pack of ruthless and efficient PVPers, and the bane of all those that stand against the SSS and her allies.

The SSS Defence Force makes up the larger portion of the ‘Assault’ section; for the most part their members will be encouraged to defend SSS Towns, SSS citizens outside the protection of our town defences (i.e. trading caravans, construction sites, etc.) and to attack and raid groups that we have sour relations with. The SSS Defence Force will be broken down even further, once it reaches a size that makes it feasible, into ‘Squads’ with ‘Squad Captains’.

In times of war, the SSS Defence Force will be called together, under their command hierarchy, and utilised to destroy the enemy forces and capture their towns and outposts.

‘Guild’ makes up the third part of the SSS Trinity; they are tasked with large scale construction projects, the upkeep and harvesting of SSS Farms, and mass collection of basic materials. Due to its premise as the ‘Workforce’ of the SSS, ‘Guild’ will no doubt end up the largest of the three sections.

The Transit Construction division looks after the construction and upkeep of all SSS Transit systems, they are currently in the process of constructing the “SSS Northern Road Network”, and have already been instructed to begin the planning phase of the “SSS Northern Rail System”, construction of which will begin once the road is complete.

The Farming division is tasked with constructing, maintaining and harvesting SSS Farms. These include farms of all ‘farmable’ materials, Wheat, Sugar Cane (Reeds), Mushrooms (Both Types), Trees (All types) and Cacti.

Construction looks after the building of large scale projects for SSS, they may at times, depending on the project, be led by an architect from ‘Fort’, to ensure the upmost quality is achieved.

Mass Material Collection is the largest of the ‘Guild’ Divisions, they are tasked with the mass collection of all basic materials (i.e. Sand, Cobblestone, Smoothstone, Coal/Charcoal, Sandstone, Lava Buckets, Snow, etc.), as well as digging Strip Mines, with the intent of collecting Rarer materials.

SSS - The Outlaws

Bandit Leader: Ricecakes394
Headquarters: Arcadia (Temporarily)

“The Outlaws” is a unique group within the SSS, in that they do not fall under the command structure of the Three Main Sections and are based on the guild system as opposed to the township system. Instead, they are designed to operate far from home, perfect for carrying out raids and other attacks within enemy territory. The Outlaws are led by a Bandit Leader, appointed by the SSS Council; the current Bandit Leader is Ricecakes394. The Bandit Leader reports directly to the Council, and carries out their orders how they see fit, be it a raid on an enemy stronghold, disruption of their supply line, or scouting a region for an enemy’s hidden safe houses. Their Headquarters are temporarily based within Arcadia, until such time as they find a suitable location and construct new, permanent headquarters there. The Bandit Leader oversees recruitment of Outlaws personally and privately, potential recruits must meet his specific requirements and prove themselves loyal to the SSS to be accepted. The member list of “The Outlaws” is not publicly available, with their members coming from both SSS and non-SSS Towns.

SSS – Towns

The SSS structure is designed to work outside of the Township system in use on the server, thus members of one section may be citizens in another section’s town. Taking this into account, all citizens are expected to obey their individual town’s rules when it comes to building codes and participate in town projects, such as walls and other town utilities. However, they should keep in mind that their first priority is to their division, after which comes the town.

Towns are administered by one of the three sections, with the Headquarters of a section being located in one of that section’s towns. (Note: This isn’t the case yet for ‘Guild’, who are temporarily based out of ‘Arcadia’) The Commander and SIC of a section will be the Mayor and SIC of each section’s Headquarter town, or ‘Capital’ as you might call it, whereas the other towns will most likely be given to the different divisions of each section, with their Division Captains assuming the rank of mayor.

Where possible you will be placed in a township administered by your section and, again, if possible in a township administered by your division. However, this likely will not be the case. You may also, if needed, be asked to move from one town to another to ‘boost’ their membership numbers, however, if this happens, you will be given plenty of warning and time to repel.

As mentioned above, the town upgrade costs and upkeep fees will be managed by the SSS Treasury division, part of the ‘Fort’ section, with each town’s bank having a banker that falls under the command of this division. The benefits of this ‘centralised’ structure have also been outlined above.

As the SSS expands in membership size, more towns will be created, to accommodate the increase. When applicable, towns will be upgraded to the next stage, eventually forming Kingdoms.

Mayors have almost complete autocratic powers over what happens within their borders, in regards to building codes and the design of ‘Required Town Buildings’, however, as stated before, certain roles, such as Town Banker, will be the responsibility of the applicable section.

In time, SSS may allow whole towns, or planned towns, to join the organisation, with their respective Mayor remaining in control over the town, and their members being integrated into the different sections, with the town being ‘administered’ by the section the mayor joins. However, this will require the Mayor and citizens to recognise the authority of the SSS council, and will also require a case by case decision made by the SSS Council on whether to accept the application or not.

By joining the SSS, the town will receive the benefit of having town upkeep fees and upgrade costs (This may not be the case for planned towns not started by existing SSS members) paid for by the SSS Treasury, as well as the protection of the SSS Defence force.

SSS’ Planned Empire

Little is known about the ‘Empire’ township system level at the moment, besides its obscene cost, however, since ‘Kingdom’ requires 3 Towns, we believe it’s probably going to require 3 Kingdoms joining together.

With this in mind, the SSS plans to create (at least) 3 Kingdom’s worth of towns, form 3 Kingdoms (Arcadia’s Kingdom [Name as of yet undecided], and two other, as of yet, unplanned kingdoms) and then join them together to form one colossal Northern Empire, at which point the SSS would become bound by game mechanics.

In keeping with Township threads “Naming Conventions”, SSS township threads will follow the following format:

[LEVEL OF TOWNSHIP] {NAME} [ACTIVE MEMBERS] –KINGDOM ACRONYM– (SSS)

How to join

So you’re interested in joining us eh?

Great, I’m sure we’d be glad to have you, so let’s outline the way you can go about applying to join.

Applying to join as an individual
If you’d like to join the SSS as an individual the first thing you need to do is figure out which section you’d like to join, to begin with you may join either ‘Guild’ or ‘Assault’.

If you’re interested in mining, building, or eventually moving onto an administrative role in fort, then it is recommended that you join the ‘Guild’ section. Whereas, if you are more interested in the PVP side of the server, it is recommended that you join the ‘Assault’ section. However, you’ll no doubt take part in all of the facets of Herocraft, no matter what section you’re in. Eventually, once you have proven yourself, you will be able to transfer into a Fort division should you wish, though if you wish to join as an architect, you may do so immediately, though you’ll need to post evidence of your architectural ability.

Once you’ve decided on the section you’d like to be in, the next step is to decide which town, or planned town, you’d like to join. At this point I should note once again that you don’t necessarily have to, or can, be in a town administered by your section and/or your division.

Now that you’ve decided upon which section, division (if joining Guild) and town you’d like to join comes the ‘hard’ part, “applying to join”. This involves filling out the application form below and replying to the applicable Town thread (found in the Official Townships Forum) or Planned Town Thread (found in the Township Applications Sub Forum, under the Applications Forum). If you are accepted, you’ll then need to go and fill out the Section and Division application form in the “SSS Section & Division Assignment” thread.

Individual Application Form:

In Game Name:
Age:
Referral:
Do you have a microphone?
How long have you been on the server?
Do you have any friends that might also join?
Why do you want to join us?
Have you been in any other Towns on this map before?
Have you been banned on the server before?
Anything else?

Applying to join as a group
If you’re the leader of a group on the server that would like to join the SSS, then again the first thing you’ll need to do is figure out which section you’d like to join, though in this case it means which section you’d like your town to be “administered” by.

Once you’ve decided on which section you like, fill out the applicable form below, depending on whether you’re a(n) Planned/Official Town or Guild, and post it as a reply to this thread. Guilds require the leader to already be a member of a SSS town, and cannot accept members from groups that we are on ‘Bad Terms’ or ‘At War’ with.

Planned/Official Town Application Form:

Town Name:
Planned or Official:
Location (write N/A if you haven’t picked a spot yet):
Mayor:
SIC:
Member List:
Which section would you like to join (Have the town administered by)?
Why do you want to join us?

Guild Application Form:

Guild Name:
Brief outline of the Guilds purpose (i.e. British ‘Guild’, Crafter’s ‘Guild’, People with blue eyes Guild, etc.):
Having you constructed the Guild HQ yet, if yes where (coords please):
Guild Leader:
Guild Members:
Please place what town your members, and yourself, are in after their name in brackets
e.g. TrinityDown (Arcadia)
Which town would you like to construct your HQ in?

How to Transfer

So you think you’ve proven yourself enough to transfer into one of the more important divisions, or you might just feel like a change of scenery. If this is the case, then you can apply for a transfer to a different Division/Section by filling out the following form and replying to the “SSS Section & Division Assignment” thread.

In Game Name:
Age:
Do you have a microphone?
How long have you been on the server?
How long have you been with the SSS?
What town are you currently a citizen of?
What Section and Division are you currently in?
What Section and Division would you like to be transferred to?
Why do you want to transfer (If applying for a transfer to ‘Fort’, please provide reasons as to how you have proven yourself enough to transfer to a ‘Fort’ Division. Provide screenshots if applying to the Architect division)

SSS Policy regarding Guilds

SSS has no policy against guilds, in fact we openly encourage members to either join a Guild with that shares their interests, or if none exists, to create their own guild. (If you plan to make your own guild, or have your own guild and wish to join the SSS, please fill out the form above)

As for diplomatic relations with Guilds, the SSS does not enter into peace or alliances with them, as Guilds exist outside of the more important Town system. It is our opinion that you are bound to your town before your guild, and as such, we view other players as members of their town and not as members of their guild when dealing with them.

That said, if certain guilds come into conflict with the SSS, we may enter into “Bad Terms” with them or, if the situation demands it, declare war on the guild. If this is the case, we will target guild members regardless of their town and their town’s relations with us. The onus is on the player to make sure they aren’t in a town that conflicts with their town’s diplomatic relationship with us.

Diplomatic Relations

This section deals with SSS’ diplomatic relations with other Kingdoms, Towns, Guilds and groups on the server. If a group is not mentioned, then assume we have Neutral relations with that group. If you wish to open diplomatic relations with us, please contact one of the Diplomacy division members, listed under ‘Fort’, and ask them to pass on the message to the Council.

Allies
SSS currently has an official alliance with the planned town ‘The Arcane University’; it is SSS policy that you cause no harm towards our Allies towns or citizens, treating them as though they were SSS members. Where possible, you should provide assistance to SSS allies, both in defence against aggressors, and other situations where they might need help. (i.e. building a wall around a new town, or raiding an enemy town, etc.)

Peace
SSS is currently at peace with the planned towns of ‘Newerth’, ‘Shin Kyoto’ and ‘Jericho’, SSS members should not partake in any hostile action against these towns or their members. Only enter into armed combat when attacked first, and make your allegiance to SSS and our peace agreement known beforehand, where possible.

Neutral
SSS is, by default, neutral with all groups on the server. If in the wild, we are of the opinion that our members can attack and steal from whom they wish, though we ask that you don’t harass or raid those that we are not on bad terms with.

Bad Terms
SSS is currently on bad terms with the planned towns ‘Ares’, ‘Ironpass’ and ‘District 101’, we encourage members to attack their citizens and raid their towns where possible, however, don’t grief or break any server rules in the process. If you run into any citizens from these towns in your travel, assume they are hostile and pre-emptively attack them.

At War
SSS doesn’t declare war against other groups lightly, requiring a ¾ vote at the council, once war is declared all SSS members are expected to cause as much pain and misery to the towns and members of those groups that we are at war with. The ‘Assault’ section, specifically the SSS Defence Force, will lead the main force against the enemy. The conflict will continue until such a time as the SSS Council deems it over.

Anything else? I am an expert lone thief (not the class), able to break into and loot high security structures and leave with minimal combat. Sometimes I have been seen, sometimes I fail, but I have vast wealth. I seek to use these skills for a cause. Later I will be a Ranger and hunt enemies.
