Suggestion NPC Quests Idea

I have really been missing the NPC quests that we once had. If I understand correctly, they were removed to help with the lag issues, but I had an idea that might work. Would it cause problems for the server to have one NPC require all of the components once asked for by the other quest NPCS and then exp/coin reward be equal to the amount we used to get? For example. we talk to NPC Bob and he wants 15 leather, 10 bone, 5 fish, ect ect ...

The quest element is one of the major draws I had to the server and while I still enjoy playing, I also miss gathering and collecting items for daily turn ins. I don't do much mining, and it was a major source of income for me. For many players, it was part of a routine that makes quite a difference.

Indeed. But probably won't happen because the Citizens (the NPC plugin) was causing a bunch of lag.

I understand. I had one last alternative to help with the money making in game. Would it be possible to create a chest that allows turn ins once per day? There could be quest descriptions on signs and exp/money reward or even just a money reward if no exp can be given that way. Alot of players are stuggling with coin since the loss of NPC quests and I am just trying to help come up with some ways to bring that income back.

If that isn't possible, I thought a community auction house might work. It'd be like the DHX gold sell area at spawn. Maybe few of the major necessities such as Diamond/Leather/Iron could be sold or bought from chests at a set area in spawn. This would provide a more constant income for people and the products would be readily available for those who need them. Granted, this would set the price for those products in stone, but from what I have seen the price hasn't varied for months. It would provide a safer, more constant income for many players who are struggling. If you didn't want to do that with the major items, something could possibly be done to sell the "trash" that is just getting thrown away. It could be sold fairly cheap to this auction house, kind of like selling garbage items to NPCs on other RPG games.

Many players only seem to want to buy goods in bulk, so it is a little difficult to sell. I think some sort of auction house system would help players who don't have the ability to sell in bulk, it would keep the chests stocked b/c many people would be making small sales, and then it would be easy for people to buy from those chests in bulk. I don't think it would hurt the chest shops too much because they can still be used outside of spawn and many people may need something out where they are.
