New rogue skill idea

What if rogues or a certain rogue spec. had a skill called "assassinate". In which, if a player uses said skill on another player (the target) while that target has an chest gui , furnace gui, ect. open, then a big bonus of damage is dealt onto the target.

I dont know if this is possible but it seems like a good idea to me.

I've never failed to kill a person, even with my fist, while they are busy smelting or looking at their chest. Don't see the point because if you catch a person off guard, you're already at a HUGE advantage

I do not appreciate what you just said with your whole "next" thing. Have you ever tried beating someone in full chainmail down with only your fists? Its nearly impossible.

Most rogue classes spec into diamond swords...if you can't kill someone with a diamond sword before they can get out of the GUI you are doing it wrong.

Well damage is going to be re done along with health. If it is redone as I hope, damage/health changes should make it so they can close the GUI and fight back with a small chance at winning still, so even with diamond swords, the thief COULD lose as unlikely as it might be. Because of this, the skill would be pretty cool and helpful.

I was going to suggest an ability for rogue so that it would give extra damage if you attacked a person's back, but i retracted it due to the fact that as of right now, the person that initiate the attack have loads of advantage already. In the future, when the whole combat system is going over a massive overhaul, more changes can be made sure, but I strongly believe that you'll still will rarely ever fail at killing a person that's occupied with a non-combat chore.

Also, to Dan, I don't jump people wearing full diamond armor with nothing but my fists, because I'm not stupid. If i'm a prowling rogue going around ganking unsuspecting victim, I'm almost always equipped with an iron sword or higher. It's hard to make an ability like this useful to a rogue when they are in a situation where they are underpowered but at the same time keep it so that it's not retardedly overpowered 95% of the other time.

Well I just remembered that in 1.7 notch is planning to make it so that when you hit mobs/people in the back you do more damage. When you jump off a something and hit them you do more damage, when you aim for the head you do more damage, and stuff like that. So they might not even need a skill soon enough.
