My college's idea of black history month...

My college celebrated both black history month and MLK day with free, public events featuring local musicians, poets, authors, and other successful people who all happened to be African-American.


I guess that's weird lol

Im J Dubs and I approve this thread. On a side note i dont think i've ever done anything for black history month ever.

No one ever really does. It's just kinda there to dissuade those few people who think the US is still racist and secretly wants slavery back (e.g.conspiracy theorists)

The irony is the US has gone so far to try and be non-racist that, in a way, we're now racist against caucasians. Minority groups are more likely to be accepted into a colleges, and get special benefits, as well as in the work force; this is so the establishments can prove their non-discrimination if anyone ever accuses them of discriminating.

Don't you just love the system?
