I see a ban from c.nerd.nu. Claims obsidian spam. care to explain?

I went on a server one day and my friend had an inventory full of obsidian at his base, I grabbed it all and placed obsidian everywhere outside of spawn, and made a huge wall. I didn't know that was a bannable offence, and I didn't think about that until now because it's been such a long time.

Seems innocent enough. Just keep in mind we have strict rules against griefing and that kind of action would elicit a similar response here.
