We have a training area, it's just still being fixed up. Since the bastard wizards destroy chunks of it all the time.

but aph what do u think about the increased exp for mobs in general and or the % increase of mobs that arent from spawners or a % increase to the ones in the training area?

We can't, as of right now, increase mobs exp based on whether they spawn normally or from a spawner. I believe they are just "ZOMBIE" or "SPIDER", you know? But the training area is great, because it gives opportunity to funnel and kite mobs.

Training areas already exist, use /skill port training with a wizard/druid

We have no intention in making leveling easier. Mobs are suppose to be tough, those who are exploiting the security flaws will either be reset or banned.

Well, I'll be honest, the mobs are hard, but not TOO hard, it's just leveling is so monotonous. If there were different ways to level as a speced, like a dungeon, which are fun, it wouldn't make it easier in the sense of mob difficulty, but it would help alleviate the fact that grinding is so bloody boring.

This is true on most games - this is a sandbox game, these same exact things were going on over the past year, it's just recently we added REWARDS for playing for a long time :)

More dungeons, more quests, more fun will be coming in! Just a tad busy atm.

Okay, because killing around 6700 (only figured zombies) mobs is just a little boring in order to get to 50. The first few levels are pretty hard when you have to kill them for levels, but you have low hp, and basically no skills.

Cant wait for something different! And hopefully a bunch of hidden dungeons that we will have to find

No one is forcing you to grind, nor are we 'taking away' from the game. There are a few things restricted but for the most part, it is very painless to get up to the same standard of play as vanilla MC.

Kris, I agree that it is a difficult grind, but how fair would it be for people like me that did it if others were to be given an easier time through. Remember, it's called a grind for a reason.

Exp has changed constantly. When I got 50 ninja, it was 32 exp per zombie, and more for the others. And when I got 50 mason and smith, it was 3 exp for gold and iron. So should I complain that crafters get more exp now?

The game changes all the time. Its all still new, and we are suggesting things. And we just want something different than killing mobs only for levels.

Yea thunder it used to be easier to level up. I mastered cleric and am now a ranger and its definitly taking longer on my ranger. I don't die to often on my ranger seeing as how I dont have to get near the targets, yet its taking me a lot longer to level up.

@Kainzo
Yes no one is specifically telling you that you need to grind the levels. but simply doing it casually will take a long time. True, no one says you have to level up quickly, but many people would agree that if you aren't a higher level your going to be killed a lot and be a very weak part in groups.
Maybe you could take a poll in game sometime or on the forums or both, asking if leveling should be easier?

What other way are we supposed to level? Basically we are forced to grind since it's the only way to level for a combat spec.

Yes, it is really an extreme forced grind. I'm sorry, but killing 7,000 SOLO is extreme - now double or triple that number if you're in a group, and the only way to level is to mindlessly kill mobs in the thousands to level.

Kainzo, you said no one is forcing you to grind; well then WHY is the only way to level by killing countless amounts of mobs?? What do you expect me to do playing a combat class, play the game like vanilla, as you suggested?

There's NO WAY you can play the game like vanilla MC now if you want to level a combat class. It's literally impossible, unless of course the only thing you did in singleplayer was kill mobs, but then you miss the entire point of the game.

At the very least, still let combat classes play MC the way it was meant to be played, and give them xp for mining.

Mobs should be scaled WAY back. It's not difficult, it's annoying. It is completely pointless making mobs give more experience if they are impossible to kill. It's assumed that everyone buddies up when they go into the wilderness, but the problem is, even in crowded towns, it takes forever to find even 1 other person to adventure with, and even then your not much better off. Mobs were much better before, when they didn't kill you in 1 hit. Crafters have to become cave dwelling animals, who can't even take 1 step out at night without getting swamped with killer mobs.
