Bug Miner bug?

Okay, so recently I switched to Miner and everything was fine, however today I unlocked Ultravision. It seems half of the time when I use Excavate with Ultravision the non solid blocks and such turn white (even mobs)

I'm not sure if this is a bug or just my Minecraft/Laptop is bugging out. I'm not even sure if it's meant to happen but it only seems to happen when using those two skills together (Excavate/Ultr vision). Here are some screenies:
