So. Merchants have the skill "Gift" at level 50, and it lets you send a stack of items to the target within 15 blocks with a 3 minute cooldown. In my opinion, the skill is completely useless. Sure, you can use it to send stuff to a guy in front of you in spawn when trading, but there is the trade system which is a lot better, and doesnt have cooldowns.

How to make it better? Make it so you can send items to anyone in the same dimensions. That way, you wouldnt need to travel to spawn for small trades, and the one buying from Merchant (assuming Chest Shops arent being used in the trade) can send the coin to Merchant, and the Merchant could send the items he sold with Gift. This would save a lot of time from Merchants, and would help them trading. It would also make Merchant be able to sell items people need instantly.

Example, a player whose profession is "Miner", is mining for gold and other stuff. Suddenly, his last pickaxe breaks and SummonPickaxe has a really long cooldown left. The Miner could message his Merchant friend or any Merchant online, asking for a new pickaxe. The Miner could send the coin and get the pickaxe with Gift without having to go all the way back to home to get one of his own pickaxes, or go to spawn to trade a pickaxe from someone.

Another example, a player who just mastered Warrior and specialized into Samurai, and went to a swamp training to learn his new skills and improve sword damage. He reaches the swamp, and kills Slimes and other things until midnight. Then suddenly his sword breaks and if he wanted to go to home and get a new one, the night would end and he had to wait a really long day before getting back there. The Samurai would then message a Merchant, and get a new sword with a simple Gift.

The last example. A normal player is traveling around the world. Suddenly, another player jumps on him and kills him. The traveling player respawns at a graveyard and finds it camped by another player, so he cant go get his redstone from the death chest to recall. The traveler looks around for redstone, but he cant afford the DHX redstone and all the player chest shops are out of redstone stock. He then could message a Merchant and buy 10 redstone for the basic one coin with a simple Gift.

So the point is, Gift has too low range. Making it reach every player in the dimension would make it a really useful skill for trading items to people's coin. It could be annoying if a random Merchant spammed his enemies with written books that have harrassing words in them, but this could be fixed by making Gift be able to send items only to party members. Any agreements on that Gift needs this suggestion's idea to it, or does anyone have any other ideas?

As a 'realistic' travel time, then if it could be coded like this, you could have it delay one second every 20 blocks away the item has to travel. Other than that, I love the idea.

Pretty sure global gift has been suggested before last map. Would love to see this, merchants are slowly becoming more tasteful.

What if the merchant had to be in spawn? Sort of a reverse port, with one item?
