The merchant class is useless. Players miss searching the shops at spawn for good deals.

Right now Merchant can create shops but there aren't any good places to put the shops. Bring back rentable shop stalls or buildings at spawn, that all players can access. Yes, the Auction House (AH) exists but players can only list 5 items. Merchants entire profession is built around building & maintaining a player economy. Right now that hardly exists among players in /pm's and even worse in over priced items on the AH.

Having a profession that gives players the ability to buy/sell items in chest shops, actually beats the AH during peak & low hours. Imagine playing in the early AM and needing diamonds or copper and the only other players are online are afk. If you're a farmer/ you don't get exp for mining which lowers the incentive to go mining for them. Merchants coming together to value and stabilize the prices on goods will help value the price of Souls which will help stabilize the economy.

Need a weapon/armor repair orb, buy one from a Blacksmith, who will of course need a shop, which without a Trade District will need to be located in a town. Need food, find a merchant, who can't grow or harvest wheat but can craft bread. The merchant will need to buy his wheat from a farmer, who will be able to grow wheat but not craft custom foods. Restrict furnace use to Blacksmith's and Merchants, or make it so only farmers get custom food. Chest shops should be restricted to Blacksmith's and Merchants as well.

I'm not asking to get rid of the AH. Having the AH makes sense for listing MMO items which are all unique and can't be sold in chests as far as I'm aware.

Also, there are already prebuilt buildings near the castle that could be rented out.

I completely agree with the need to revitalize the merchant class and player economy. Introducing rentable shop stalls or buildings at spawn would significantly enhance the player experience and foster a vibrant marketplace. Merchants could set up physical shops where players can browse and make trades, which would encourage more interaction and better deals compared to the Auction House, especially during off-peak hours.

Restricting certain crafting and selling capabilities to specific professions, like Blacksmiths and Merchants, would create a more dynamic economy where players depend on each other. This way, merchants could manage shops and maintain a stable market, while Blacksmiths and Farmers each play crucial roles in their respective niches. By integrating these changes, we can ensure a balanced, player-driven economy that enhances gameplay for everyone.

Let’s bring back those rentable shop stalls and give merchants the tools they need to thrive!

I'm on board with Noble Plots and ChestShops at spawn for merchants...
