I am sure that Kainzo mention that you can master all the classes eventually. Just like Call of Duty, you gains the perks that are given from each level and their respective spec of guns but you have to choose which gun you want (shot gun, sniper, assault, ETC.)
Even in CoD you are limited if you are comparing your argument to this. (read on I will explain further)

The HARDcore card might come into play for these reason and why not a challenge? I agree that limiting the size of towns and capital is not cool because of the room people tend to use in Minecraft, looking at towns we see that many of them extend pass the rings to acquire more land, before upgrading to the next teir of townships.

There is very little Limitation really, diamond has become the top choose for everyone in fighting, building, digging, mining, and EVERYTHING! Make use of the other tools like iron and stone.
This has made the market surplus with material and the fact that everyone can mine and sell these material to people is just crazy really, what we are really buying is someone's luck in finding the material and time in trying to get the material. I could dig up a load of dirt but I rather have someone else dig it all up for me because I have the money and spend my time on something else. This is basically what our market is and works because of that demand of material.
While at first the market will be quite bad if there was a full wipe and everything since there is nothing, eventually because we gain experience from doing our trade/skill we want to do our job. Being a crafter I will want to mind material and sell that, promoting people to buy from those that work. (I know I rambled in this paragraph)

Basically what I am saying is that a crafter would find iron, sells to warriors who get coins from killing mobs and players. And there we go we have a new aspect to the economy, well we can do this already but very few choose this method because of the low amount one mob gives, but if they take into how hard gold is to find and that there is unlimited mobs this would work.

Now the idea of CoD using all the guns is not a unique argument, and very interesting you bring it up because to elaborate what I already said above, the use of all the guns at once is not possible much like the classes, one class at a time but, again I BELIEVE that kainzo said that one could master all the classes in 2-3 months if they are hardcore. Which I took as we can reach master class for all classes and specs, this is like the CoD gun situation, you can't wield all the guns at once, instead you choose your layout for the situation which you pointed out. This is the same kind of situation, the limitation that this new plugin will do what you said CoD does.
Don't rage quit, the challenge is to freshen up the place for some kind of team work and maybe this will pull some wild wars.

But here is my Beef, beside spending cost to change classes. To prevent rich people abusing that they are rich, make it so that to change classes you have to go back to where to choose classes to change. That way people cant change in the middle of the battle to use a certain skill.

Very enlightening, thank you

No problem, went to clear some of of the confusion up and didn't want people to rage quit because of a misunderstanding of how something works.

Unless I had a misunderstanding:icon_eek:

We're working in a method to restrict this from happening too often.

I think the biggest issues I see with Heroes is it almost must have a client-side addon to really work 'right' in the end. We need the ability to see the class, town association, guild, etc of people around us, various control-related UI changes (skill bars, UI to do key binding, etc).

Has that side been explored at all so far? How much of that is possible? Given UI-impacting mods like the Minimap, that even have custom UI dialogs, it is bound to be doable.

I love what your doing with townships. I feel like requiring certain buildings will be a huge step for towns, and give each town a more personal feel because more buildings will likely share a similar architecture since the government of that town is responsible to put things there. Though I don't think there should be a limit on the number of towns. Just make sure that they maintain the prerequisites for township(whatever level they are at) and pay upkeep. In that case the number of townships will take care of themselves. Besides I'd love to see tons of small towns rather then the giants we see today. Small towns are active and have tight knit communities. Most big cities are composed of people who care mostly about safe storage. Plus township numbers should take care of themselves with this more powerful monitoring system. Putting an arbitrary cap on doesn't seem like a good idea to me.

I would also like to say that all towns should have some sort of road system that eventually leads back to Sanctum. I think its dumb how a lot of towns float out in the middle of nowhere and provide no method of travel besides HeroGate.

Also one comment: its really hard to get leather at the moment for reasonable prices(compared to their durability). This won't be an issue until heroes comes out and all the mages/thieves are forced to spend huge amounts of money to protect themselves(since it doesn't last too long, they will be frequently purchasing on top of silly high prices). Will we have an alternative to cow slaughter? I spent about an hour today killing cows and managed to get about half a stack of leather which is incredibly ineffective when you consider how much it takes to produce a full set of armor and the time period it is likely to be used. Would it possible to have a cauldron alternative such as the method used for chainmail?

sorry I missed the meeting, had no access to the internet that weekend. looks like we're still moving in a good direction.

can I bring up that I still think we need spells in the normal world too? I'm all for having the best ones in Hell and FFA, but basics should be in normal imo. But that's just my opinion, and we also need to prod Dgco to update all the spells again or get someone working on it, because we can't add them if they don't work.lol

It's very possible that we will be combining forces with the original developer of MagicSpells - so we'll have much better Spell support with multiple devs working on it.
