Simple solution: Kill them when they log back in, or make a trap for when they log back in. Either way you get your kill ;)

My suggestion is ripping off most other games with a basically warm up time to log out. 5 Seconds. This probably isn't possible, but a suggestion is a suggestion, right? The 5 second casting time will grant a 5 second slow. That way if being charged the attacker has a 5 second window. Since your slowed, you have to judge if you can actually have the time to log out before getting jumped. This would make tight situations harder, but more fair. Once warming up, if you want to suddenly fight and run, just click. Like interrupting normal spell casting times. If you suddenly drop connection (say your power goes out), or your minecraft crashes then you'll auto logoff (with a PVP logger if you get hit, of course).. but for people who are just disconnecting to avoid PVP they'll have to wait 5 seconds with a slow.

I suppose there are still ways around it, like dropping your connection by unplugging your computer... But who's going to do that. Considering a large majority of people who just log are on teamspeak will have to disconnect and reconnect all the time.

Ok, imagine you like Friday, by rebecca black. You start up minecraft, go to youtube, and play the song.

Then your friends come into your room, what would you do? Keep listening to rebecca, or turn off the computer?

Yes: you turn off the computer, but, at the same time, someone attacks you.

So, you'll have to choose: getting banned, or letting your friends know that you like rebecca.

I personally dont like combat, and since this is supposed to cater to all playing styles I believe I have the right to log off if I dont want to fight. If your skillful enough to get to me without me seeing you then you deserve the kill (doubt you could though, i switch between walking backwards and forwards on roads surrounded by water)

I don't even want to know what goes through your mind on a regular basis.

But what if you are being raided? And their raiding party begins to attack. You see someone right outside. PlayerX logs out because he knows he cant kill you but he was just with the raiding party. How is this justified?

@HollowSith That's a good idea but I don't think its possible.

I also want to point out how the server is in fact a super hardcore monster and that in order to maintain super hardcore monster status we must ban for combat logging. When u see an enemy and log off you are a pussy regardless of ur lvl/gear/items. It's also the opposite of super hardcore monster to log out once you see an opponent. Why would wecontinue to allow a practice that diminishes the super hardcore monster that herocraft is.

because if the hardcore becomes un-enjoyable, people leave

not everyone plays for the pvp side of things regardless of how 'hardcore' you think it is.
We will not be implementing any radius checks, or distance checks when a player logs off to determine if they are pvp logging or not. It is simply inefficient and doesn't make any sense to do so regardless of what you feel. Whoopy do you killed one less player, get over it.

Combat logging is only ever an issue if someone that is mid-fight is able to deny you a win/loss regardless.

both @jwplayer0 and @Sleaker its fair to sayyou guys are against hardcore? Because avoiding pvp isn't hardcore. Playing herocraft to build and mine isn't hardcore. Herocraft is a super hardcore monster, is it not? You want to take the hardcore thunder herocraft has? A bit selfish, to let the server suffer from lack of hardcoreness over your precious items.

I wouldn't jump to such conclusions. Considering you are accusing the head coder of Heroes and another valued member of the HC community, who are just simply making suggestions or commenting on other people's suggestions, I would say that's a bit unfair to them. They didn't say anything even correlated to "we are against hardcore", so get off their case

Hardcore does not equal PvP.
Hardcore does NOT equal PvP.
Hardcore != PvP

Playing Minecraft for it's PvP isn't rational, and I am fairly certain I can credit Kainzo with saying that.
If you want an epic, flawless PvP experience go somewhere else because all we have is cubes and mods.

If, however, you want decent PvP along with PvE, a decent economic system, an awesome community, dedicated and personable staff, and building and mining, enjoy your stay. We're the best.

Does it make you feel more like a man to call people a "pussy" regardless of the situation? What a ridiculous post...

And I'm pretty sure Sleaker, Kainzo, and probably every other admin disagrees with you. The hardcore aspect of Herocraft is a little more broad than what you're referring to. It's not just about fighting every time you see another player to see who has the bigger genitalia. I'm also pretty sure "hardcore" doesn't mean belittling other people.

I can bet some of these 'hardcore players' have never seen the other end of a pickaxe, or gone mining.. or just build a structure, a nice beautiful structure.

I member when minecraft was simply that.. BUILDING n MINING.

:p
