2. Can you get soul shards and soul fragments from other plants, If so which, and what are those drop chances?
3. What is the cap of animals that you can have in a single chunk?
4. Is there A faster way of gaining farmer levels besides massive reed farms, if so what?

- Only "Crops" drop shards. These include: Wheat, Carrots, and Potatoes
- While I don't know the exact rate I belive Kainzo said they where about a 0.01% chance
-The cap is 20 animals per chunk
-If you are lucky enough to find some (before you can summon them) sheep give 2.5 exp when you sheer them.

i dont know if this is considered "wanton destruction of the world environment", but taking a bunch of shears to a jungle and massacring it can be pretty good exp. I guess i wouldnt do it now without an answer on if that is OK, i did it in the past when i first joined the server.

I can confirm that potatoes do. Havent tried with carrots yet

Edit: Another question for anyone else looking here. What do bats do? I saw it was the farmers last skill, but do they do anything at all?
