Jumping mad!!!

I have been on the herocraft server now for over 2 weeks and i am loving every minute of it, the things you guys do for us with no complaints is phenomenal and i thankyou for that. I have very strong opinions towards hacks exploits exspecialy when people get to play for free on the server then go and do shit like that. Any how to the point i recently found that fly hacking is a no no which it totally should be but i also found out that the server allows block jumping i feel this should also be a no no because its an exploit to region protection, its taking advantage of a glitch in the program but just because it is there it doesn't mean it should be abused, i feel it a very cheap way of getting over peoples walls and threw there defences, people build there walls big to keep people out but when a lot of players can block jump it defeats the purpose of having big walls ect. Its cheap and i don't agree with it a few people will say STFU dan but those are the people that probably use it. Im just speaking my opinion and if i was asked "if i was to change one thing on this server" that would be it.

Well. This is my thought.

No use of exploits or hacks.

It's an exploit and many respected users in the past, and now, absolutely think it's unfair.

I am one of those.

When it comes down to it, the user knows what they're doing is an exploit and could easily make the decision not to do it. Play fair in other words.

Guard against it - use cactus / fire.

HOWEVER, soon we will be implementing a COMPLETE restriction where players / kings can BLACK LIST people entirely from entering.

Oh btw. The dragoons will have a /jump ability - it will throw them x5 further than the normal jump.

The ability thing is understandable kainzo, other than that thou i just feel its abusing something that is broke in a plugin, people should have to find ways to get into a base not just block jump over there walls, its no different than someone using a fly mod or a speed change, they are all exploits that people find and abuse.

I agree whole heartedly. Neverast enabled PVP to be the first town in which people who could break through our defenses, or catch citizens lazing about outside our walls, were free to hack us apart. Our walls -are- impenetrable. There is no way into the town without being a citizen.

However, after we caught iFizzE spamming blocks to fly over our walls, he confirmed what we already knew, that people were abusing bugs to get into the city. So we have to keep PVP off now, since there's no reason in just turning our town into wilderness. If the walls we spent weeks building can be hopped over without the cost of a single dirt, there's no sense in us risking our lives and goods to be pvp enabled.

I don't mind if someone get's gored outside the walls, or for AFKING -on- the walls. If they're going to be dumb, they're going to die. But there's no sense in having pvp on if you can't rely on physical barriers either. It's annoying that we have to build a lava wall to stop this abuse.

Theres not a good / easy way to fix this btw - its built into the MC code.

But can it be something that can be worked on kainzo, its obviously something that is fast becoming a nuisance and with fly and speed mods being shut down pretty well now these hackers or exploiters will look else were to get there fix and that will be block jumping, and when that becomes a popular method if not already on the server then that is when you will have problems especially from people like apple not saying she will but when someone spends weeks and weeks building these walls just for some cheat to block jump over that's kind of demoralising and probably makes that person angry.

I also want to make this clear i am not trying t tell you how to run your server im simply suggesting and trying to help by pointing out potential problems.

Well, Kainzo said Regions are going to soon have a Blacklist. Meaning, that when a user is on a Blacklist they can't even walk into the Region. So, that will help until, if, the block jumping issue is fixed.

Which means soon, 90% of the server will have a huuuuuuuge stretch of land that they can't even go near. I hate everyone.
