How to participate
On September 10th, sites across the web will display an alert with a symbolic "loading" symbol (the proverbial “spinning wheel of death”) and promote a call to action for users to push comments to the FCC, Congress, and the White House. Note: none of these tools actually slow your site down; they tell your visitors about the issue and ask them to contact lawmakers.

Be creative! Grab peoples' attention with a loading symbol, and link to tools for emailing and calling lawmakers (e.g. battleforthenet.com). Whatever you decide, tell us you're participating, announce it publicly, and commit to getting *one* person or company with a *bigger* reach than you to join in as well. Got a question? Contact us.

It wont affect you, but its to bring awareness about what the major ISP are trying to do to the internet, which is essentially charge you money for any popular website you want to visit on top of the internet bill you already pay. The problem is they have government officials so deep in their pockets this is soon to be a reality.

They've actually already started to do it. Netflix has to pay several of the big ISP's just to give their users a fast connection just because these isp dont want to upgrade their infrastructure to support more users (which they were actually given A LOT of money to from the government in the 1996 Telecommunications Act and failed to do anything with the money outside of keeping it)

Actually, right now is a real slow-down thing;
Major solar flares that are coming from the sun are interfering with any electronic gadget. We had real difficulty connecting to our school iPads yesterday and today :p
