Okay, this has gotten ridiculous. Seems like it changes all the time, and there are no real set rules I can find to this. All I have gotten is you cant AFK, the mobs need to be able to hit you, and they cant be hurt (from a fall or lava) before you fight them. Yet there are all these unknown rules that arent stated. Can I use water to bring all the mobs to a tunnel so i can fight them in it (more efficient) Can I use water at all? Do I need a 3 high ceiling for all mobs? I use 1 high right now for spiders because otherwise they climb the walls and just sit there. Can I fight zombies in a 1x2 tunnel? Can I use water to stop a spiders lunge, so they have to just walk as fast as me? Can I use minecarts to trap zombies in them? Why dont you just give us what we can do for each spawner and make a forum post on it. Then all this asking wont have to go down. I asked Buddah about a mob spawner of mine, and he said it was probably legal. There is too much confusion about all of this.
It should go something like this
Zombie Spawner:
Allowed:
2 or 3 high ceilings (dont know whats legal for zombies)
2(or 3)x1 Tunnels or open room adhering to the ceiling height requirement
Zombies should be able to walk to the block you are standing on.
Disallowed:
Lava, water, or blocks that impede zombies speed, hurt them, or block them from you altogether
Minecarts to trap zombies
Doors? Buddah said something about this, I didnt know what he meant by it.
1x1 holes
Skeleton Spawners:
Allowed:
3 high ceilings (So their arrows do not get caught in the roof)
3x1 tunnels or open rooms adhering to the ceiling height requirement
Can I trap them behind 1 high blocks off the ground since they can still hit me with arrows?
Disallowed:
1x1 Holes in a wall
2 high ceilings
Water, lava, pitfalls, and blocks that hurt, slow down, or block skeletons from hitting you.
Spider Spawners:
Allowed:
Ceiling Height?
Can I use water to stop their lunge? This way I hit them as easily as they hit me. (Went the other way with this rule)
Can i do 2x1 holes while I am 1 block down? (makes it so you are looking straight at the spider instead of aiming down)
Disallowed:
Lava, or pitfalls to hurt them.
1x2 holes in the walls to hit them without them being able to fit through.
Help me answer these questions and add more, because right now, the rules are pretty crappy on what designs are allowed.
