Yep. Parliament passed most of those already, data retention is still in the making... It will probably be abolished by our leftist parties again, not that anyone could see that coming... they could just as well be doing limbo in Berlin, that would be just as productive :p

I'm sure they aren't actually monitoring every single person for every minute of the day, this law to me seems like a way for them to spy on suspected terrorists without having to build a case and get warrants, I am fairly certain very similar laws are already in place in United States.

Not to say I agree with the laws but I can see where they are coming from, but if the government needs to search peoples computers or monitor phone calls because they think it can save lives, then thats something I could deal with.

It's certainly uncomfortable and non-ideal that they would reserve the right to violate your privacy, but governments and other groups worldwide have been doing that in different contexts for centuries upon centuries. To have the right to enforce law is to have the right to infringe on a person's freedom. The realm of the computer, being such a ubiquitous utility, is just no exception.

I may just be a naive little nerd who doesn't know how the world works, but surely my reasoning is clear enough.

This is scary. They know that you searched for the best xxx weynard, they know...
On a more serious note, I think it is really freaky that they can save entirely new files onto your stuff. You could be sent away for being framed as a terrorist if you get on the wrong side of the wrong people O.O

This thread has completely reminded me of A People's History of the United States by Howard Zinn. If you have not read it and are a citizen of the United States, read it right nao. If you don't live in the US, you should read it anyways as it portrays the lack of rights, the corruptness in governments, and the class battles that occur or have occurred in almost every country.

Oh, by the way- the Bavarian state authorities also created a worm that secretly collects proof from your machine. It violates the national constitution but it took a club of hackers from Berlin for them to realise that...

I would just go on gay porn all day so when there looking at my computer, there like 0.0. When they stop I go back to my bomb making instructions.

Thanks, I'm sorry about that I truly am, trust me I regret it so much. If you really want to talk about it pm me don't start anything on the forums.

Alright then.

Anyway, the worm doesnt require anyone sitting at their pc. It just takes screenshots every 30 seconds and sends them across the internet directly to Mr. Polizei. Oh, and it also rerouts Skype calls to them, regardless of content. Did I mention it enables anyone to install software on your pc yet? It is even able to turn the whole machine into a surveillance device if you leave your cam on :)

EDIT: After reading up on it, it turns out it is actually a trojan that can be spread via email or installed manually. It can also be remotely deinstalled, think suicide in case of detection. Thta part just didn't work correctly which is why the hackers were able to reconstruct the program... feels bad man.

I actually would not mind too much with the government being able to see anything I do, it may be a bit awkward but it isn't like they actually know you. It would be awkward if like I was friends with some of the people able to see everything I do, but that wouldn't be the case. What would worry me would be their ability to replace files on your computer.

Thing is, if shit like this happens in America, the people who wanted something like this put into place would probably want to punish you for looking at that :p

I actually think this is fine. Free Speech grants us the right to speak out or bad-talk against people. Even if someone saw that I said something bad about them on my computer/email etc, I would be perfectly clean. As privacy goes... The only password I want to keep private is my minecraft account :D

Btw, that video was done very well :D

Exactly, I have nothing to hide, therefore intrusive policies like this cannot harm me. It's like if a law was passed allowing police to search houses without warrants, I might have to entertain the cops some time sure, but the drug addicts up the street won't be my problem anymore :)
