How much do soda and energy drinks cost where you live?

Had an interesting discussion with Aanokint about this, I was appalled when he told me a small can of Monster costs $3.27 and a 20 oz bottle soda costs $1.24, or $2 in most vending machines.

Over in the Seattle area, small Monsters (and other drinks of the same size) are only $2.25 (after tax) and 20 oz soda is only 99 cents, which is $1.08 after tax in most stores.

How about y'all and your prices?

Prices are pretty appalling here in Toronto for two major reasons: the first being it's a canadian city where everything is stupidly overpriced (again, that same $2 price for a bottle of, say, Dr. Pepper from a vending machine), and I'm also close to a university, which can push that same bottle of soda up to 2.25 or 2.50.

When i was visiting the U.S i was suprised that everything was nearly for free there :D Not really for free, but really cheap. I could eat dinner on a resturant for 1/10 of what it costs in Norway :)

You guys bitch about prices, come to Alaska, gas is super expensive(No idea how much I don't own a car but its like 30 dollars more for like a full tank). Monster is 5.50 and a candybar is 2 dollars. Thats at the small stores.

Bronxville is generally more expensive. But the place where I usually buy soda (I drink A LOT of soda) it costs about $1.75 + tax for a 20oz and about $1 for a 12 oz can. Energy drinks like monster, red bull, etc I don't drink, but I'd assume they are about $3-4 depending on where they are bought. The cafeteria at my school charges 1.25 for a 12 oz can of snapple o_e

prices are like this in a lot of places around New York City, they've gone up a ton.

I'm nearly facepalming reading all this posts about how 'expensive' it is in your town, because its like 50% more expensive in Norway.
That ^
f.eks. I bought my laptop for 1.000$, it has 3 gb RAM and dual i5 core(5.06 Ghrz).
I saw in a internet shop in USA, for the same amount of money I would get 12 gb RAM and 8x amd 3.2 Ghrz(25.6 Ghrz), with a good cooling system, and a shit-ton of extras...

Can you link me that? Because I sort of disbelieve that you could find an octo-core with 12 gigs of ram and a bunch of extras IN A LAPTOP for such a price... I've got an i5 dual-core (2.2GHz) that cost me 750/800, 4 gigs of ram.. and that was just last year.

Also, as a note, multi-core clock speeds don't quite add like that... but that's a lot of pointless theory and gibbering that I just don't feel like getting into.

Also I really want A&W Root Beer... with some vanilla ice cream. Wonder how much that'd cost...

You people from Norway should just move to Western Washington :) It's alot like Norway except warmer, less snow more rain.

Of course, I only know of this comparison because all 4 grandparents of mine were born in Norway.
