Nah, you only need the 3 referrals in order to reserve your callsign (that's from memory but I'm sure I'm 100% accurate).

its not a free pass, all it means is that you get to make your call sign (displayed username) early, I already made mine Mr.Fresh. Though you apparently can get more things if you have more than 3 referrals so keep on using my link!
