Your story: I found someone on the server named Jon204. His name is very familiar because in a faction's server I befriended someone who had a similar name. So I asked him if he used to play it or not. So I went into the off topic section and asked him if he used to play there that's all. I didn't think i'll get banned for it.. I'm usually the type who doesn't really do much but mine. If this is too little, I can always add more detail. I just think it was wrong to ban me because I was just looking for someone who I thought as my friend from another server that died a long time ago

It wasn't like I was giving out the IP or advertising about the server. I just mentioned it ONCE to a player because I thought he played.

+ It was off topic, and I didn't know that it was considered advertising, What else is a 15 year old going to do if he sees his possible friend in over a year?

While I don't think should be a perm ban, we do take it very seriously about mentioning other servers/services.

Anyone with half a brain could google what you mention and get an ip pretty quick.
