Eagle Eye for Mayors

This suggestion just popped into my head and I really don't have the time or knowledge to analyze the pros and cons so I'm making a thread posting my idea for others to criticize.

Basically it would be allowing mayors to have the ability to see chest logs within their town region (I thought it was called Eagle Eye, not sure). Every mayor who has ever cared about their town has had to create multiple PE's about a town thief and it can be quite a pain. This would make it easier for mayors to find out 'who dun it' and it would take a burden off the mods/admins. It would also discourage people from stealing from their own town (I know its completely legal, but most the people who do it are immature and trolls).

Again - I don't even know if this is possible or if there would be a way for mayors to exploit this.. It just popped into my head

That's not a half bad idea, but I kinda like having more things that guides can do. Unfortunately the plugin we are using doesn't work well for me! (I can't see past the first page of history, so if the theft is past that i have to call in a mod)

If it worked well, I'd be 100% willing to take the server rail to any town that needed chests checked. It's grunt work the mod+ don't need to worry about. Plus I hear it lags the server, so we also can't have mayors doing a query of the database 24/7, or else the lag would be insane!

great idea on paper but it seems like it we wouldn't be able to implement it I cant even count the times I wish I could check logs for my towns in the past

Not sure how this would work, I don't think you can assign Hawkeye to a person in one specific area. I think if you give someone permission for it its for all chests, so that wouldn't really be a good idea, but if it was possible it would be awesome and very helpful. The lag would rape though.

Yeah, that seems to be the general opinion.

If only [GUIDE]s could turn the pages of the block histories I (and the other's im sure) would gladly travel to do it for any mayor who's people won't kill us

I've granted the ability for guides to sift pages - but i dont think its working for anyone. Can an admin/mod confirm?

That's what I was kind of worried about - that it wouldn't be possible.

Who knows though?! Maybe one day! Minecraft and Herocraft are always gettin bigger and better! /kiss up

@Kainzo just confirmed that I can't turn pages in hawkeye. Probably the same for all other guides too.
