Another suggestion from mikehk, yay!
Ok, so if you've played WoW, you'll know where this is coming from. My suggestion is to add a dungeon system to Herocraft.
The way it'd work is you queue for the dungeon by typing something like:
"/dungeon [name of dungeon] [type of support]"
the name of the dungeon could also be replaced with "random" and will send you to a random dungeon instead of the one you choose.
the type of support would be either "tank", "healer", or "damage", these are self explanatory.
in the queue it will wait for a tank, a healer, and a set amount of damage and then once these are assembled, it teleports you to the dungeon with all of your stuff, so you mucst bring your own gear. Maybe make it so each dungeon has a difficulty depending on level, unspecced people could have their own set of dungeons, while specced could have theirs based on level, as in an "easy" dungeon could be set for lvs 1-20. a "medium" dungeon could be set to 21-40, and a "hard" set to 41-60. the harder the dungeon, the more health mobs have, the more damage they do, and the harder the bosses are. to code the bosses, maybe make it an NPC using citizens or denizens, and give it some premade skills to use in combat, such as "tremor" and such.
Bosses will drop "loot" in the text box, and players will type:
/roll greed
/roll need
/roll pass
greed means you could use it, but don't neccesarily need it, like make it so everyone can "greed"
need means you can use it, and you will use it, only certain classes can roll need on certain things, such as a diamond shovel enchanted with fire aspect 2 knockback 1 can only be rolled need by dragoons and anyone else that uses diamond shovels.
pass means you do not roll, you instead don't care for the loot and just let someone else have it.
if a diamond pick drops, people will only be allowed to roll greed.
maybe enchanted armor like protection 4 leather chest armor can only be rolled need by anyone that uses leather chest armor as their best chest armor (other than gold)
each boss may drop coins instead of loot, and is spread evenly among all group members.
each dungeon has their own bosses, and each boss drops their own loot set.
This might even include server lore, such as the lord of the night sends his minions to attack bastion, and the lore would be that the people in the dungeon queue could go and vanquish the dark lords minions in their own fortress.
I think this is all codable, may take some time though, but im pretty sure Roadkill909 is smart enough to do it, as well as the rest of the coders (wouldn't let me tag the @ coders because there's more than 13 of them XD). this would add another viable exp source other than running around killing mobs endlessly, and would add loot and valuables to the server market.
thank you for reading all that, or just reading bits and peices, anyways thanks for looking.
