Does this cathedral make my buttresses look big?

Recently got a hankering to build a cathedral; this is what I have so far. I'd appreciate any critiques or ideas!

Id suggest using a bigger variety of materials, it looks fantastic as it is. But more materials would make it look even better.

Looks pretty good, can't wait to see the finished product.

Also, you could try making the buttresses a bit more rounded.

Yeah, looking back, they aren't as rounded as they ought to be, I'll fiddle with them a bit more.

Absolutely, I've been waiting to add detail until I'm happy with the overall structure. I'll definitely throw in some more variation soon!

I appreciate the input guys!

It looks amazing!!! Personally I would put some nether brick on the walls in places just to add some color. Also, I think you should use glow stone in a few places to add some nice lighting for at night.

I just might add some netherbrick, I think it gets overused so probably not much. I think the polished look of lams suits this build better than glowstone, but I'll definitely add more color and light. Glad you like it!

I should have new pics up soon!

I'd add some choirs/chapels/wings off to the side of the building to make it look more realistic, but looking good so far!

Here's a little update! I think the inside is starting to look a lot better.

I added the little spires to give the roof some interest, but I think I'll remove them to make way for the wings. Also still working on a more rounded buttress.

Not happy with the large tower, so it will be redone.

I do like how the choirs look, but I'll have to make the building longer to retain proportions.

Thanks for all the comments so far, let me know what you think and I'll keep updating my progress!

I don't have much advice since i'm not the best builder. But as far as I can tell, it's looking great! Keep up the good work!

Add some church pews and a stand for a preacher it'll be a real cathedral. Also, loving the improvements.

Absolutely, last thing I did was actually start on the seating! Thanks!

Add some new pictures of your progress soon!

About that... My hard drive decided to retire and I am currently waiting for my new hard drive and power supply to ship so it may be a while before I can get back to this build. I'm pretty sure this map is saved on my second drive, but we'll see when I get my rig running again. Either way, benefit of NOT using MCEdit: I know every block and can rebuild it faster 'n a jackrabbit on a hot greasy griddle in the middle of August.
