The disciple of the healer class is a specialized unit that has no armor besides hard to get leather/gold. Gold isn't to hard to find but it is worth so much it's better to sell it! Leather is hard to get even with a farm because the animals despawn from restart or someone just uses pulse on them killing them all which ofcoarse screws the farm process over.
If desciple's can't have armour which I previously discovered in a different post why don't they get a special ability called stoneskin.

Disciple-Stoneskin
Unlocked: level 25
Gives Disciple armor effect which lasts 30 seconds.
MP: 50
Cool-down: 3 minutes.

This could be used in many circumstances such as PvP (most likely) levelgrinding against a few monsters at the same time or maybe encountering those nasty cave spiders. The ability could even just give you extra health for 30 seconds instead of an armor effect to make it more simple. The reason I think this should be looked at is because the healer class is a support class but in most circumstances they die first making them pretty useless in a group of raiders/defenders. The ability could give you a chance to fight harder or just run away instead of dying! Once again leather is a valuble resource as is gold so its common to see a disciple without any armor. Please consider this for it would balance the healer a bit more with the other classes.
