Disarm...

Yeah so now that I am a bard I have noticed that I, as well as monks, do not fall under the category of being disarmed because of our special weapons, the jukebox and the fish, anybody think this should change? Please reply, i'm curious as to what people think of it.

I've always imagined disarm as hitting the opponent's arms so that they can not fight back. So, no, I don't think they should.

I wouldn't think disarm like that because their weapon disappears implying that the disarmer disarmed them by knocking their weapon out of their hands.

I don't think it was intended. Fish and the jukebox are recent additions to their perspective classes' arsenals and this has probably been overlooked. Thanks for pointing it out!

I agree that they should be disarmed.

Hmm. Thanks for sharing that. Well my conjectures are usually wrong so I'm going to stop making them :/ hahaha.

Although it does illustrate how dumbfounded I am by the idea of fish/jukeboxes being impervious to disarm. How could it possibly be intended?? hahaha

Yeah same here. It's not fair that they can be immune to disarm when they clearly don't need to be disarmed.

Yeah.. So how the hell are you going to disarm a floppy raw fish? Also A jukebox? Thats like trying to use a sword to disarm a speaker.

2b would also be good, as they attack with jukeboxes and fish.

If I had a sword I could disarm somebody who armed themselves with a speaker byhitting it out of their hands. Or break the internal mechanisms, at that. And you could simply spear the raw fish and fling it away.

It's hardly a stretch of the imagination.

I don't think they should be able to be disarmed. Let's say against a samurai, samurai's have bladegrasp against them, and to monks there's mortalwound. So I think it's fair that they can't be disarmed. I've been up against bards/monks, it makes the fight a little more fun. :p

I think either all weapons should be able to be disarmed, or those that can't be have damage lowered to compensate for the extra damage they get to deal in the time frame they would normally be disarmed throughout a fight. A Bard does (I think) 10 damage base, and what 12-14 with might. That's a constant 12-14 (possibly greater) during an entire fight that their hitting you. For most melee characters this is a pretty big disadvantage because we have grown to rely on disarm. I'm not saying Bards are op, but they do need a slight tweak to their weapon. Same deal with Monks, an 8 damage constant over the course if a fight along with the ability to heal like Bard can, is a little annoying. Now maybe it's just me being annoyed a healer class can out damage a Dragoon in melee, but I don't think any healer class should melee even past pally. Just my thoughts, let me know what you all think.
