I'll have to manually discount it, I think - cumulative discounts only happens when it is purchased, not granted by other sources.

Do backpacks show up when you press the Inventory (default E) key ? or only when you do the /backpack command ?

If you have spoutcraft it "should" work with "B" - not 100% haven't tested. It will only show up with /backpack otherwise.

Thats correct - items drop on the ground and do not go into the tombstone either. So be careful!
