Bug Cutting down Trees occational spawns black and pink cube

Looks like the dropped item is missing a texture, you might want to reinstall the server's resource pack or turn it off.

Nah, it's a minecraft thing. Just place the block and its fine.

Its actually a Bug with the Item Drop itself, which is an Invalid Value. A simple fix in the Configs would fix it ^-^

Is it only happening for oak logs?

This is an issue within Heroes skills, we're looking into it.

I put in a method to fix this, it has to do with data values of logs being a bit off. Should be fixed with the next patch, along with extra leaf drops.
