Please explain the motivation to become a "broster", I fail to see the motivation in impersonating yourself as an animated pony from some kid's show.

It's just been recurring too many times in my life, I'd like to see what you bros are about. :)

Imo, if you impersonate as a pony that's just strange. (I use this avatar because I think this cool.)

The show is okay, I prefer the community myself.

Isn't it a kid's show though...?

And yes your profile picture is fairly badass

This stuff gets locked quick, so you may not get all the answers you want right here.

It's not the pony persona that makes one a broster. It's just being a fan (primarily of the newest iteration of the show). The "impersonating a pony" thing is in the same line as making up your own characters, like furry personae, fan-made Pokemon, or Herocraft's Lore project.

It is a pretty good cartoon, objectively, and the holy what this is actually good-factor is what drew many people to it initially. It does stem from The Imageboards Which Must Not Be Named, but in my experience it's pretty easy to move past that with the community.

If it's from that Blasphemic Image Trove, why are there forum profile pictures of them?

And... it's good? As in that weird Phineas & Ferb appeal?

Eh, during the internet drama that led to it's creation and popularization there was a schism. As a community, they don't really like The Place anymore.

And yeah, sort of like P&F. The people who make the show also take a good deal of interest in the bros.

purenrgiii clarified this matter over TS, I see the concept clearly now - admin can lock this if they feel it is necessary

Yep, I just hate reading about grown men liking a girly kids show....
That's not an uncommon sentiment. I will say that it's not as saccharine or overtly girly as previous shows with the MLP label.

I like (good) cartoons in general- Phineas and Ferb, The Last Airbender, old-school Pokemon- in addition to harboring a strange, almost-academic interest in internet subculture, so I probably had very little resistance to the broster virus anyways.

At any rate, don't be hatin' and we'll get along just fine.

Are you talking about ****base?
Nope. It's awkward talking about it because I don't know what's censored here or how far that facet of this discussion should even go.

EDIT: I do think it's a pain that something is disallowed on the grounds that it achieved mem.e status, but rules is rules and Herocraft is unique. Oh well, thread's over! Say goodnight, Gracie.
