Getting this a LOT atm: broken blocks 'pop' repeatedly and can't be picked up. If I wait long enough (several minutes), or relog, it fixes itself but starts happening again a few minutes later.

Also: standing on a pressure plate doesn't activate it while this is happening.

One of our addons changed recently ?

Block lag has actually been very kind to me lately, but I know what you're talking about. Everybody had this problem back in 1.2 (?), and it's a real bugger.

I installed Neo's Mod Pack with Optiminer on a clean install (read: I deleted AppData/.minecraft and downloaded a fresh minecraft.exe, kept the my waypoints .txt though) and ran Neo's handy auto-installer. Since then, I have experienced no severe or prolonged lag of any kind on my shitty Toshiba Satellite with a shitty 1Mb/s connection. My FPS still sucks in busy areas, though, but that's because my laptop sucks. If you're getting fed up with this and are running a Windows OS, I'd highly recommend this action.

Have you tried using a vanilla client? I dont see it happening on my end - so either there is a syncing issue or something else is going wrong.

I was getting this constantly the other day actually, did you update Java recently?

Reinstalling the game from scratch and uninstalling/reinstall java (using beta JRE 7 actually) fixed it.

Hmm. Hadn't seen this behaviour before, except for a brief stint when there was a new version of bmod installed.
Nothing changed my end, unless there was a java auto-update I didn't notice.

Ill try a few things and see if it comes right.

Thanks all :)

i saw this happening many times recently, when i dig a lot of stuff in the air, sometime, like 10 digged block (in dropped item form) fall on me, then go up again, then refall, then re-go up again then rerefall... but well, in those cases, i just quickly relog and they finally really fall, so i can pick them up

I just freshly reinstalled minecraft for a new texture pack, so let see if it happen to me again :)

I only reinstalled the game, actually. My Java hasn't been updated since I got this thing, ought to do that now, actually :S

Dunno what the cause was but it is not happening today, and I havent made any changes or reinstalled anything.
I suspect it might somehow be related to a low number of people online (8 at the time) or possibly latency (though it didn't seem laggy and was ping/pong-ing fine)
