Bug Bolt Skill Invisible

Whenever I use the /skill Bolt on a mob or player a lightning bolt doesn't show up like it used to. Was this removed purposely to reduce lag or what?

This works for me without any issue.

The skill is doing damage, but I can't visually see the skill. Maybe its just that I don't have optifine or just my computer.

For me the lightning bolt no longer appears but instead a firework animation? is this intended?

Would do the exact same thing for me in 1.6 before I had the modpack and using 1.7. The actual lightning just doesnt show.

Use vanilla - we don't technically support optifine in the skill settings. With vanilla settings it has no issue for me.

You may have turned off particle affects ... I cant reproduce the issue... not sure why.

Could it be a 1.7 problem? Happens for me still too. Could mipmapping be the cause?
