Suggestion Blood Mage could use more skills.

I recently Spec'd to bloodmage and have few issues. One of them being the fact that Cleric and Disciple have 9 skills to learn, Druid 11 and bloodmage only 6. I've been killing mobs all over the wilderness, and doing ma, when it comes to combat in a 1v1 situation against either a player or mob.. I had only 1 skill I could use (still a lowbie), Drainsoul. Drainsoul is nice and the lower damage compared to necro's version is understandable due to that fact bloodmage can bandage when outta combat. Maybe Bloodmage could get some new skills or unused ones. Perhaps a Slow, Another heal, utility skill or something.

It's kind of how it is, you're useless up until you get your good heal Chant, and until you get Blood boil/silence. Most of those skills are useful it's just you don't get them until a very high level.

I don't think Bloodmage's need more skills, I think they need to unlock their skills at lower levels and/or change some skills around.

Most classes have skills around the 10 mark, 6 is unreasonably low. Classes usually get a skills at 5 and sometimes 10 level intervals, at times Bloodmage has 15 level intervals. Without enough skills there is no feeling of progression with a class. Bloodmage gets no real choice in what attacks to use since it is limited to this few. There are no tactics for it, since it can use all its skills in a several seconds and still not have had a large effect on the enemy or even itself. This class has been under powered for far too long. It doesn't specialise in damaging, tanking or healing, it's not even a balanced blend of all of them, it just lacks in all departments.

I like the idea of bloodmages as having to sacrifice health etc., to use skills.
What if instead of sacrificing health, the bloodmage silenced themselves for x seconds after using a skill. Poisoned themself?

ex: Staunch: the bloodmage controls their own blood, slowing bleeding. 50% less bleeds (poison?) dmg for y secs. Silenced for the time in effect with 100% less bleed dmg?

Vampirsm - the bloodmage sucks the targets blood. melee range, poisons both the bloodmage and the target. low cost.

Tourniquet: Invuln and silenced x secs. Cannot cast on others?

Bloodlet: Bloodmage deals damage over time to enemy or friendly or self. At end of effect, the affected player is healed. Overall, would be a heal, so timing would be key in PvP. Could end up killing yourself/allies before the heal or end up healing your enemy if you cast too early.

Bloodscent: Bloodmage gashes open their arm and splashes someone else. Bloodmage loses bit of health, target <other> taunts mobs (in parties only). I dont think BM(new BM lol) should be able to taunt to themselves if they dont target a party member in keeping with lore, but it would make it more hardcore since target <self> taunt mobs would be undesired.

Bloodbath: the bloodmage sets everyones blood on fire, enrages everyone. Everyone does 20% increased dmg including the bloodmage (and mobs? maybe increase both dmg done 10% and dmg taken 10%) in a wide area around the bloodmage. Reagent- lava bucket (not placing lava).

if it seems like I came up with way too much its because I did, I plan to spec Bloodmage eventually and was bored on a 12 hour flight today. Not sure if the more skills route was what staff was looking for, but I generated these before I saw this thread and thought it was a coincidence worth sharing.

According to wiki, they have 1250 currently, I don't know if this accurate though.

Also, I think, as I look at their skills, they have no real damage, their only damaging skills are drain soul (lvl 1 skill) soulleech (lvl 55 skill) and bloodboul (lvl 60 skill).

Not sure if it's just me, but thats a huge gap in damaging skills. Maybe put soulleech at like 20, or even add a new skill for them that helps bridge the gap.

Maybe give their drainsoul a lower cd, like 3 seconds, currently as it stands it is a 7 second cd, and it is their only reliable damaging ability before bloodboil.

They're under the "HEALER" path for a reason.

I was thinking it would be cool if Bloodmage had Teleport skill. I know beguilers have this skill, but its not uncommon for two classes sharing the same skill. Teleport would provide bloodmages with the ability to assist party members in need, I know they aint the best healers or pvp'r but with teleport they could atleast do something the other healers could'nt. Show up in a flash and provide healing support.

The thing with Bloodmage getting a teleport skill is that, Druids already have Port :( But I agree on that Bloodmages have nothing compared to the other classes. Bloodmage is really the only other pvp healer spec, but it doesn't have as much to offer as disciple. If Bloodmage had some type of slow skill, I think that'd be pretty cool, or just something that would make this class more attractive to players and make them want to play this class because I don't think there are many master BM's because it just isn't that fun of a class to play because it has little to offer. I would really like to see this class get some lovin! :D

Blackohso, I know druid has port, so does wizard. Only Beguiler has Teleport and barely anyone plays that class as well. I've been playing bloodmage and I know im only level 30 at the time, when i'm in a pvp situation I have one damage dealing skill. Also I can't bandage, Antidote is nice and works if I get poisoned. StealEssence is also a nice skill but I rarely cast it due to fact people just don't use buffs fighting me. Maybe later on I get very good skills to compliment the ones I have now. I feel that bloodmage is unbalanced compared to other classes.

Yeah I agree, Bloodmage really isn't the viable to any group, its better for solo, and with some type of slow like water. When I was Bloodmage, the only way I could get kills is in the water due to the distance between us, if people are in your face, you can't do anything but die. This class pretty much since forever? Has been probably the worst class in game and needs some type of revamp.

Oh, that's cool. Now there's less of a gap between skills compared to before, now all I can hope for is just a wee bit more lovin :)
