Suggestion Blinds are useless

Blinds are useless. Blind on Ninja is a waste of a skill, Necro's Despair does around 50 damage AoE and Dreadknight's terror is okay because it slows, but still these skills are obtained near max level. However they do nothing because half the server runs Optifine which is included in the HeroCraft MODPACK. The MODPACK made by the SERVER for the players has built in NEGATION of the spells of a few classes. What the fuck is that?

This is true, however Optifine has always been legal so I doubt we'll see a change in the modpack. Would be nice to have some high level skills that weren't countered completly by a legal mod though.

Honestly, vanilla blindness isn't that bad even without optifine; you can get around.
The parts that make it suck are that you can't sprint and you can't target skills.

You can sprint if you have sprintkey I think. These skills require you to be pretty close to someone to use it so anyone going to cast spells at you is going to be close enough if blinded to do so or will not be blinded.

If you're using sprintkey, you've got your own problems.

You can't use single target spells when blinded..

Blind is one of the most op ninja skills... It actually got a small nerf from bastion because it is amazing.

You need to learn how to use it.

You are insane. Blinds are anything but useless.

1) Blinds prevent sprinting. You cannot sprint at all during the full duration of the blind. You can consider this a small slow.
2) Blinds prevent you from targetting any abilities. You cannot be bolted, you cannot be maimed, and your target cannot heal his party. See that he's healing a teammate? Blind him. See a Wizard warming up bolt? Let him warm it up, and blind him at the last second.
3) Blinds prevent them from being able to fucking see. Optifine no longer prevents blinds from being disabled, and hasn't since 1.6 released. Unless something has changed when I wasn't looking, this is still the case.

Anyone who is avoiding the blind portion of the effect is using an illegal client mod and would be banned if they were caught with it. You should not base the effectiveness of a skill around the fact that some people are using illegal modifications.

Blind is good.
ure bad

This is not true. We have tested this internally to ensure it wasn't possible. I have went out of my way to make sure that you are 100% not able to sprint during a blind.

If this is physically coded in you might want to make that clear, if its an effect of vanilla minecraft's void fog sight removal then you're dumb. However if it IS physically coded in like this, fine, blinds are useful. Just point it out SOMEWHERE on some wiki or /skill blind ?. If its never pointed out its like expecting someone to know that a vacuum cleaner can ALSO shoot lasers. You can't expect someone to know something that you've made unless you tell them or its blatantly obvious.

You want me to explicitly state somewhere that turning off void fog in optifine will not disable the blind from blinding skills?

No, that blind disables the use of abilities. And if it doesn't and what you said above was a lie, oh well.
I did not say that it was a silence.
2) Blinds prevent you from targetting any abilities.
You can use blink while blinded.
You cannot use bolt while blinded.
You can use jump while blinded.
You cannot use impale while blinded.
You can use chakra while blinded.
You cannot use renewal while blinded (if used to target a player other than the caster).

Get it?

Explain why you can't target. Does the ability physically remove targeting or is that a side effect from the void fog 'blind'? You keep dancing around this question.

I am not dodging anything. I asked a question to clarify what you were asking, and instead of answering me and properly stating your exact question, you called me a liar.

Void fog is a vanilla effect. All blind effects use this vanilla effect to blind targets. Optifine no longer removes this vanilla blind effect.

In addition to the vanilla blind, Heroes kicks you out of sprint during the effect to enforce the vanilla no-sprint functionality of the Blind effect. Heroes also directly checks to see if the player is blinded, and if they are, it prevents all ability targetting. That check applies to all blinding abilities.

I've found people don't know the general lingo when it comes to "CC"

CC: Stands for "Crowd Control"- any disabling effect
Slow: You move slower (Duh :p)
Stun: You can't do anything (Move, attack, etc)
Silence: You can't use any skills
Root: You are unable to move. Leaps (Jump/lunge) will work, but you won't move. Teleports will work, but you will still be rooted after the tp.
Mesmerize: Like a stun, but breaks on damage (Ex: Piggify)
Blind: You are unable to use any "Targeted" skills ( if the skill requires you to have a target it won't work.)

That is what I've been asking you to answer for the past few hours. Thanks. Now to restate,

Its not stated anywhere that Heroes checks if you're blinded and if you are you can't target. Fucking dumb.

You can't use single target spells when blinded..
Yeah, I get it now. It should be posted somewhere to prevent things like this. Thanks for not being dumb like that other guy.
