This is cool if executed correctly, but it should still be an option to directly connect to your desired server (eg. Heroes PvP, Creative, Test)

  • Boss mobs / Custom Drops / Dungeon Integration
All I can say is "finally!"

  • Mini-games (Either on separate server or world)
These need to be on a separate server.

  • Races / Attributes (A bit further off but still in planning at this time)
I feel like these could be cool, it would be really great if you could progressively unlock a skill / attribute path. No need to go PoE crazy though.

How will this war plugin affect established towns?

Some towns are too small to defend themselves even during their peak hours from big raiding parties. So if there were consequences to losing in war (like loosing your town) alot of people might just up and quit.

I'd like to think there would be something more polite than destroying towns, in fact I think we could do some sort of "betting" system where towns would put up something valuable like land in another world or valuable blocks in the town bank.

Yea, stuff would get much faster, and it may be possible to check bans and such automatic, but not as good as the proctors does..

And more importantly: I know many veterans stick around here because they got a staff title, like guide/proctor/herald etc. they do their job, and don't really play much on the server, so if they don't get a chance to do their wonderful work they'll not be on the server. That is not a healthy thing for the community.

I know you don't want server tasks to be what is keeping veterans active, but it's not hard to see, that when you hava played the same game, the same server for such a long time you want something else..

We are moving towards a much faster "whitelist" server... where you log in - are on greylist - then register with a unique forum name / confirm and then get pushed to a whitelist.

It's the best option and automates the system entirely. Still planning on a way to track and monitor the griefers though :)
Angyles what would happen to the proctors :( was planning to rejoin the team this summer.

Although an automatic system would be faster that doesn't nessecarily mean it would change certain things/get good results. :(
All the system has to do is check if:
  • They have previous bans
  • They got the special code correct
That could be done in 50 lines of code or less, as long as the program had a way to access the ban checker website.

My understanding it was just a "Sign up on the forums, and boom you are whitelisted".

Problem is, even if it was done with a code, many servers do not record bans with a website like McBans, etc. Many of the bans we find are done with a Google search.

Would not matter, it would be a "We are giving them the benefit of the doubt so they can lie about their age and it is fine", in regards to 12 and under.

DiabloDrops is no longer being maintained. Note HeroDrops =D Very excited to see what comes from it.

So... we've recently been doing a lot of sweeping changes to Herocraft and I wanted to let you guys know what's on the plate and the immediate plans for areas of our community.

  • Centralized Hub server all players will connect through
  • Boss mobs / Custom Drops / Dungeon Integration
  • NPC revamp (Quests!)
  • Outpost / War system
  • Karma logic revamp
  • Mini-games (Either on separate server or world)
  • Protection Revamp (Merge Residence / BuyRegion and HTTP to a uniform protection system)
  • Datacenter move
  • Races / Attributes (A bit further off but still in planning at this time)
We're slowly working through these and setting things up to hold more players 24/7. If you have any questions or want more details feel free to ask.

Of course, none of this would be possible without the many people who work long hours to make this server great. Thank you staff. Admins | Moderators | Coders

The idea of minigames i especially find intriguing.
Maybe another suggestion, Such as "Pet Battles" Me and a few other staff members were discussing this yesterday and feel having a system of pets being able to battle and level pets up would expand the dimensions of the game hugely.
