This thread is not me complaining about how some skills are "underpowered" or how some are "overpowered," just about me suggesting some things to be done to bard.

I would like to start off with the point that the 11 disc should no longer hit higher than the others. With the recent patch, this disc can now be obtained legitimately, and not only from admin spawning. I don't feel that there is a need for it to hit higher now. After fighting with an 11 disc, it makes an enormous difference, as it is hitting 106 with warsong, compared to what.. 87 on a normal disc? (Warsong).

The second thing I am going to suggest, is making Warsong and Manasong almost as long as Might and Wisdom. It is very annoying fighting alone, when I need to constantly put up these buffs, to ensure I am doing the maximum amount of damage.

Just some ideas... Been playing bard for 3 maps now, and it is without a doubt my favorite class. I think that these two things will make it a more enjoyable class.

Warsong and Manasong will never be as long as Might and Wisdom. They are two different skills with different play styles / uses.

All of Bard skills are "short bursts" because you are to "twist" your songs to make music (so to speak).

Ultimately, you should be able to keep up 3-4 skills at once. 5 if you are exceptional. I feel you may be missing the design intent.

I'm only a lvl 36 bard, but I agree on both suggestions. Buffing War and Mana songs would be nice. And reducing bard's total melee damage output would help balance out the buff.

Also, today I learned war and mana songs also work on me. Derp.

EDIT: Though, Kainzo's post does make sence as well. Damn.

How is Disc 11 obtained without admin spawning? From creepers and such like normal discs? I hadn't heard it was made easier to get. :eek:

As for the buffs idea---I've been saying that all along. We really should have them brought up more. Even if not to Cleric/Beguiler level at least closer. Even doubling the duration of the current time would be SOMETHING at least.

Not asking for the damage to be buffed, only just the damage provided by 11.

Would'nt it make sense to leave disc 11but buffed but maybe by a smaller amount? It can be the gold sword for bard, giving them a slight increase and something of "more value" to fight with. Maybe a reduction of a few damage but keep the 11gold disc as the bards golden sword

If we have to "twist" our buffs then our versions should be more powerful than the Cleric/Beguiler version and should overwrite them in the event a Cleric/Beguiler is in the group. I know you get your "twist" idea from other games with bard-ish classes, but in all of those games the buffs were a) unique (not the case here save for Accelerando) and b) worth the effort of "twisting" (generally not the case as well, especially if the buffs are already provided by other classes).

Even for solo pve popping warsong shaves off a wopping 1 hit per mob (on average). In the time it takes to "twist" it in to my rotation I could have just gotten the extra hit in and called it a day.
