I exagerated. I more meant that swords would be almost useless to a bard as a music disc/jukebox/bow would do more damage. and envenom no longer requires a sword to be used. Swords would still be a viable last ditch defense, but not much else.

Agreed. I don't think we should do as much as we do. As it stands, we do the same as a Paladin (correct me if I'm wrong, I know Pallies used to do 56 base dmg with a diamond sword). I get that they are all defense, but should our 5th best weapon really do as much damage as they do with their second best weapon? Still need a good diamond sword for Looting though : P.
