Age bans

I do and don't believe there should be a age limit. I have been reading a lot about maturity above and there isn't any way to tell if they are mature or not besides their age. Sure we could have a cheesy "Are you mature?" question in our whitelist applications, but it would be as easy to lie about that as easy as age.

In short, I say keep the age limit. Although even if someone admits to being under it, but they have remained mature their whole time on HC they should not be banned. Sometimes it just isn't fair, there are some under 13 year olds out there that are more mature than 18 year olds.

I applaud the crack down on those who lie about their age but at the same time I feel that the argument of "internet security" that some people have mentioned above still has to be taken into account. I don't see why there can't be a simple yes-no question of "Are you 13 years of age or older?" This would allow player to maintain there anonymity (to an extent) while still ensuring that they can legally accept the ToS. Just an idea....

Well I believe that there should be an age limit but to the small majority of pre-teens, at least display some form of maturity in your writing response at the very least. If they are able to persuade the staff enough then they should have the chance to join. It's no easy task when there is a bias and this should weed out those who display the wrong age, I seen some applications that says they are 18-20 and their writing suggest a 10 year old at best.

I meet a person who was a 13 year old on the IRC who wanted to join Herocraft because he heard alot of good things from others. However he lied in his application that he was 20, you can tell by his writing that he was not but his reason was that he believed that this is an "age limit", there is one since you have to be 13 year old to agree to the TOS (term of service).

I agree with grarona as he had said that the younger kid's apps should be graded harder. Also maybe you could check their maturity level in-game?

There shouldn't really be an age limit to get on the server because there is a big majority of Minecraft players that are 10-13 years old. Now, if they were to post an application and they seem very immature, then don't except them, but most of the time they are mature.
When they lie about there age, it's a little different. I don't think we want dishonest people on the server and it's just good if they are truthful about there age.

There has to be an age limit. Our ToS legally says they have to be 13 or older....
Plus half the things we say on this server is a bit inappropriate for a younger audience...
for example take whatever comes out of Brutal's mouth, most of that is inappropriate. :p

CyberZero have you read half of these posts. Our ToS or Terms Of Service states you must be 13 years of age or older.
