about shears and pistons

So alot of this is just me being pissed that i bought 2 stacks of pistons only to find that only engineers can place them. Also i do know that they are disabled for now so i'll ave to wait anyways, but...

I'm a warrior going for paladin. Now i do participate in occasional pvp, but i'm going pally mostly to help protect my town. As people have said before, pvp is a facet of Herocraft thus no class should encourage only pvp. Then same thing goes for crafter, casters and healers, building shouldn't be their main focus.

I think pistons should be made by engineers so that they can sell them at a profit, but everyone should be able to place them. I just want to both build and pvp at the same time and not be debilitated in either areas by my class choice.

As for shears, alchemists already have the ability to use cauldrons, still being able to exclusively produce leaves (and wool now) gives them too much items to produce.

Its hard enough buy these blocks given the number of people in these classes. Thx, as i always say with my suggestions... no raging necessary. Main points highlighted.

I agree.... I thought by popular demand shears would be for everyone but I see it's alchemist only :/

and pistons... I'm not sure about them, seem a bit iffy there.

If I remember correctly, They currently don't have a way to only allow certain classes to craft certain items.

I think your suggestion makes some sense. You'll still need an engi to acquire the piston so its not like you'll get to use it freely. In addition though I'd like to suggest restricting breaking it to engi as well. Anyone could break the block but only engi gets the piston back. So you'd either have to be an engi or buy mass amounts of pistons when you screw up/move/redesign.

As for shears, I think its fine how it is. Leafs will be much cheaper to sell and buy but won't be like farming dirt.

I agree with the pistons, its like buying parts from a distributor company and then either failing or succeding in putting it together correctly :p

As for shears, I dunno. If anybody could use them, Alchemists won't have anything going for them, as leaf blocks were the most valuable item made from a cauldron. All they would become is the people who make lappy for cheap and chainmail for mindless PVPers. Perhaps sheers could be for all crafters, but only alchemists can pick up leaf blocks? Then the market for wool won't inflate like ass, but then again, why not let it? >:D

This really pisses me off. Shears only for Alchemist? Now that's bullshit. Sure Alchemist should be the only ones to get leaf blocks. But surely there is a way to code it so that everyone can use shears but only Alchemist can use them to get leaf blocks. I mean honestly the fact that now only Alchemist can get wool is utter garbage. I like Heroes myself. But honestly right now this is getting out of hand. Wool only for alchemist? Just no. I mean I'm not a coder myself and I don't know what can/can't be done. But there should be a way to make it so everyone can use them without being able to get leaf blocks so they can get wool. I mean I use wool for almost every structure I make. And you may say "Ow you can buy it off and Alchemist!"

1) Getting Wool is a pain In the ass In the first place. Not many people are going to have stockpiles of it to sell.

2)At the moment at times I'm on the max Alchemist that are on is two out of fourty two.

3) I don't want to be compelled to be an Alchemist just to get wool.

I'm not going to drag on and go ranting even more. If I have to describe Alchemist being the only ones that can get wool using Shears. It would be "utter bollocks".

Edit: Yes you can kill sheep to get 1 wool. But that is still insanity. It's hard enough getting a stack of wool with shears. But honestly right now? I can't even find a single sheep half the time and for me currently to get a stack of white wool. Would take me most likely a few days of running around trying to find sheep.

Also Alchemist already can rule the Herocraft Economy with cauldrons. But now with this. The richest players are going to be Alchemist. There is no chance of a balanced Economy now.

Until they start competing with each other for customers.

On topic, I don't mind pistons for Engineers, sounds good to me! No change needed.

Sheers? Dunno. Jury's still out whether they should be available for all players, or restricted to alchemists. I don't mind either way!

Players choose crafter so that they can have an economic advantage at the cost of being terrible in combat, among other things. As a healer, I never expected to be able to dominate the market, and being restricted from shears does not come as a surprise to me. If being able to heal myself almost without limit means I can't shave sheep, I will not feel shortchanged.

Everyday there is another rant thread.
People dont think of the overall balancing of specs nor the general goals of each class.
They only think of thing in terms of how it effects them personaly.

Why does everyone complain so bitterly about 'not being able to get wool'. You still get 1 wool from a sheep if you kill it (or is that just a bug?)
