A couple questions about buildings

If you can help answer these questions I would much appreciate it.

If you build a house outside of a town, can other people destroy it?
If yes, how can you protect against that?

If I build a house, do I have to 'Claim' it in some way, so that I 'own' it and nobody can take it over?

To have personal regions, you have to be a supporter, is this correct?

They can destroy it but on Bastion anything they break they have to repair exactly or you can petition it as griefing.
Only regions / residencies can completely protect it.

Yes, you are supposed to place signs with your name on it on every building you have so it can be identified.

Yep - have to be t3 or higher.

Couldn't someone break the sign and I wouldn't have much proof that it was mine?

And all I have to do is place a sign? Or do I have to do something else, I read something about reclaiming a building that was abandoned, and you had to do a couple of things...

There are plugins that can prove if they broke the sign or if it wasn't there. To claim a building that you didn't build, the player has to prove inactive, then you can place a claim sign. Keep that sign there for a week, and the building is yours.
