Yeah, we'd all love to play games on a $30k+ computer. As long as we're fantasizing, I'd play minecraft on a holodeck. With holo-women. In holo-space.

Edit: Holo-unicorns.

No. Just no. Why would you ever go for the 990x over the 980x, it's not worth the extra thousand dollars, the 980x is phenomenal. I didn't read anything past that, because this was clearly just a gathering of the most expensive parts on newegg, or whatever site you picked from.

Asinine.

I did not just choose the most "expensive" parts on "NewEgg", i choose them all by hand. I know my computer parts and I know what one is better then the other and why.
so "because this was clearly just a gathering of the most expensive parts on newegg, or whatever site you picked from." is not true in this case, although in most it would be, but not here.

I am sorry if this is coming across as rude and do not mean it that way just as a FYI.

It is (12K) Computer + (3K to 5K) other parts = (15 to 17)K not 30K.

Because the 990X has better parts in it, and built better, so it can run hotter, longer, then the 980x. it is also .2GHz faster, witch is not much, I know, just saying.
So mostly I can over clock the 990x to say 5-6GHz, and not just 4-5GHz with the 980x and still be safe. This is all with water cooling of coarse.

If you have limitless money then it seems like a good build lol. Although 2 processors isn't good for gaming, you actually lose performance if you go above 6 cores in 1 processor or get 2 processors even if they are both single cores. Duel cores are for servers and splitting the load, games are just starting to support quad cores more lol, so you wouldn't have any use whatsoever for the 2nd core for a good 10 years in which they would both be outdated by then.

Then again I don't see a need for a lot of that stuff, but if you have no money limit, it seems good. Maybe a better graphics card? Pretty sure the 480 fermi isn't the best but you went all out on everything else.

Heres the problem with multithousand dollar computers. They go obsolete in 9 years and your like FUUUUUUUUUUU, also the thing is that its cheaper to spend like 2k on a decent high end computer and last 5 years and then replace it for another equally high end computer of that generation for another 5 years for again 2k.

Is is very true, and a good point and is what I do now at this time. All tho I would say they go obsolete is 7 or less years then 9 years.

And just for all you reading this, this is a just for fun post, and I would only get it if I had the money for it, right now my computer set up it a 2k one. But this 12k one would last me for a good 7 years and then new part or new al to gather would be needed.

Those parts would all be obsolete... what... 2 months after you bought them. And a .2 GHZ or 1 GHZ higher overclock is NOT worth that price... I know computer parts too, and it's STILL not worth it.

Keep dreaming though :p
