I could go about updating the .jars and all but I'm failing to see how it's less user-friendly than using .jars as the Technic launcher is quite simple to start up and run (unless you have some java issues to which I'm willing to lend a hand).. Aside from that, the Manual Installation will be... -

Try running the technic launcher in admin mode (windows priveledges) -

Update 1.2.2! Optifine is ADDED to the Technic Launcher HeroModPack! Remember, this is still using 1.5 NOT 1.5.1! Hopefully ModLoader and other mods will update to 1.5.1 soon enough, until then, Use the Technic Launcher to stick to our 1.5 modpack!
