    Currently the scribe has to have perms wherever they set the Runestone at. What happens if they set it in their shop in the Trade District and then later lose the shop. Will the Runestones still work ? Basically is the perm ownership checked just at creation or at use as well ?

    Sure they can - but the point of using dirt is that its easy to remove - even with bare hands. Obsidian won't be easy and will require tools. Lots of people don't do dirt now so I think a lot won't use obsidian either. There will always be a way to secure your stuff if you want - just how much...

    Thanks for the clarification Kainzo - this helps us plan ahead. Looks like I need some obsidian for my semi-valuable chests and lwc for the good stuff. The rest can have dirt and the raiders can have my double chest of sugarcane if they really, really want it.
