The UN has no authority to grant land to any country. The UN's main function (and the only thing they do remotely useful) is to allow countries a forum to complain about other countries in. Occaisonally if the complaint is loud enough and against a non-veto country something happens. The only thing the UN does is allow countries to 'think' that the UN has power when they really don't. The UN is controlled by the security council and to think otherwise is foolish - anything the UN wants to do the security council can veto -- thus the power lies in the 5 veto countries.

Dont let anyone claim it yet, and wait until we run out of those resources here. Then, get rid of USA and Russia's overpowered weapons, along with any guns or new tech from every country. Instead, have an all out war with blades, bows, etc.( Norway would obviously win because polar bear riders OP.) So when all the other countries are wiped out and there is less people, the resources will last for those people for a very long time.

Greenland is a former colony of Norway and is now under Danish rule.

Remember that 25% of the Oil and Gas reserves are predicted to lay in the arctic ocean. Right now there is no cheap enough way to actually get to these resources, but in the future there will be. When the oil and gas of the world runs dry, all the countries that doesn't use alterrnate energy sources will be desperate for more Oil and Gas.

True enough that we humans have some complex about being united. But if aliens have the power to create limitless energy and can survive the time it would take to travel to Earth the question is with humans being a race so fucking stupid. Why bother?
