This is going to be the co-op game of the year (yes it'll be better than D3) Runic games is top notch, and is comprized of the genius of the Schaefer's and Travis Baldree (FATE, Mythos).

The pre-order is now up on Steam, and you can get a 4 pack for $60 - or a single buy for $20. I definetely suggest getting it even though the release date is a ways away (Summer 2012). It's going to rock!

You make it sound good, and I haven't looked much into it, but the screenshots make it look like just a retexture of WoW. Hope this isn't the case

Considering it's not an MMO... and it's a Diablo style game... yah not at all. The guys at Runic know what they are doing, and Torchlight was a very good game. This next one will have co-op and a lot more content!

The art style is very specific, and was first in FATE then Mythos, and was continued in Torchlight. You can see how it's progressed and kept it's clean cartoonish style (and a lot of the similar features).

I want to know how many people will be able to co-op, I guessing at the least there could be 4 co-op since of the 4-pack but that's not good evidence. The other is from a PAX video where it showed 8 people on one map which was insane.

If single player was fun on Torchlight , I wonder how it will work with multiplayer, these kinds of games usually are big hits even from indie like developers. Another game that I would think could be similar is "Magicka" & "Fate", Torchlight has similar cartoon style to those two mentiond but more clean in my opinion.

And I some of the great minds from the orginal Diablo series/ Fate/ and Hellgate: London/ Mythos. So really a large pool of experience to learn from and getting it right.

I had registered an account with Runic Games website back when I played Torchlight. That is the first people they sent keys too. Even those who pre ordered the Torchlight II game didn't get keys yet.
