At the very beginning of time, the gods granted men life, and taught them otherworldly knowledge. They taught them how to give life, and how to take away. How to control the elements themselves. The most important thing they taught them though was how to fight. The mortals, over time, forgot all these secrets. That is, all but a few. These few banded together, and with the approval of the gods, build a centuries old tower amongst abandoned dwarven mines. The mixed powers allowed for their to be an abundance of everything. Of food, water, and life. But the most important of all, monsters. A forest had sprung up around the castle, hiding it from prying eyes. Under these very limbs that protected them, also spawned the very essence of destruction. Monsters filled these woods, making it the perfect training ground for the sacred techniques. The skill to hunt, hide, and hurt. This is the Vanguard.
