Can you try to rename the minecraft folder to somethign else then starting minecraft then running the modpack installer with optifine unchecked and then see if that works?

I've been having the same problems as him, I'm also on a Mac. Should I download a prior modpack?[DOUBLEPOST=1367843209,1367841645][/DOUBLEPOST]Is there a way I can just uninstall the HeroMod?

You can't really run the modpack on an earlier version as 1, this is the only modpack version compatible with 1.5.2. To uninstall it entirely, just force update before logging into minecraft. OR you can just not select optifine when using the ModPack installer.
