Bug Sharpness Not Applying to Blaze Rods

My Gladiators Blaze Rod with Sharpness IV is not applying the extra damage. I tested it on spiders which do not have any damage resistance. Here are some screenshots. Not sure if this is happening with other weapons.

This was a bug last map, but was fixed... i guess its back :/
