Redstone doors

How do you make a redstone door by breaking the redstone the door opens
when I try it it only opens when I place one :/
Please help me !

You have to place the door at an angle so when it's placed it appears to be open.

Instead of placing the door so it is blocking the entrance before the torch is placed, place it so it appears to be open. Then when you place the torch it will close the door and when you break the torch it will open.

A door can be placed on each of the four sides of a block. So just place the door on one of the 2 sides of the doorway that face toward the blocks next to it.
