Minecraft/Herocraft Down?

Neither spout, or the default minecraft launcher can connect to the server (it says connection timeout).
Is the server full?
Is the server down?
If not what might be the problem?

I really wanna kill something :3

Ok good because I kept getting a strange message with a dead link everytime I tried to connect to herocraft or a hunger games server, good to know it's not just me
