4. Make every effort to protect the city in the event of a raid.
5. Do not kill aggress anyone in the Marsala public market. Defence is acceptable.
6. Do not leave doors or gates open, this leaves the city vulnerable.
7. Rent will be based on size and location of citizen plots, this rent will be collected every Monday so that the city of Marsala is able to pay its taxes to Dragongarde.
8. Any new building within the region requires a permit from the Mayor.
9. Help those less fortunate than yourself.
10. Do not betray your loyalty to Marsala on account of any guild, group, or bounty.

Mayor- The lead governing position in Marsala
SiC (Second in Command)- The secondary lead governing position in Marsala
Banker- A trustworthy player able to manage the flow of Marsala's gold.
Warlord- The head of the Marsala Military offensive.
Secretary of Defence- The head of home security, and the Marsala defensive forces.
Minister of Commerce- Maintain the public market, audit stores often to ensure they are being stocked regularly.
Soldier- General soldier ready to die for the cause of Marsala.

Unique Architecture:
Using ancient Babylonian architecture as inspiration along with the folk lore of the Lost City of Atlantis I plan to have the most beautiful city on the server.
Open Market:
While much of our city will be exclusively accessible by citizens I am planning an open market in which the citizens of Marsala can sell their wares to not only fellow townies but the rest of the world as well. This market will not have any access to the residential, military, or governmental districts and will be designed to "lock down" in the event of any foul play.
Continued Story:
The short story of Marsala's history is just the beginning. I would love to see multiple writers contributing to this ongoing story, adding their characters to it and ultimately creating an online archive of lore for all of us Role Play junkies.
Tactical Warfare:
When it comes to PVP I would like to see our town rise above the petty spawn killing, and the grave yard hunting. I want noble warriors with skill and tactfulness. I want to go to war for economical/political reasons, not simply because we saw a village somewhere with warm bodies in it. As for National Defence, it is of highest importance that we design a city that can be defended against the hoards of raiders that rape the countryside.
Progression:
Continued progression is extremely important. We must always be looking for ways to expand our empire.
Independence:
Marsala will never bow its head to another nation or become subordinate to a foreign empire.
MARSALA
History
In the distant land of Elysium a young slave miner named Grimlar began his life in the quaries outside of Xarna. Under the reign of king Torrn the citizens of Xarna enjoyed a time of peace and prosperity. Upon the death of king Torrn the citizens elected a new king to the throne of Xarna. The elected king Larden was young, brash, and hungry for war. He mustered the small army of Xarna and issued a draft. The young Grimlar was drafted and ordered to follow the Xarna army on suprise attack to overthrow one of Xarna's long standing allies, an attack that the elected king had been planning to execute for many years. The night of the deployment Grimlar dug a passage beneath his small house and escaped the city in search of a king less mad.
Grimlar found himself wandering into the small settlement of Avellino, a meager village of only four citizens and very few buildings. When passing through the mayor grasped Grimlar's arm, "brother! stay with us, we are in need of builders, miners and soldiers. If you choose to stay I will give you a large plot of land, you will be quite satisfied here." And so he did. Grimlar built his house with such skill that the mayor commissioned him to build other buildings for the city. Soon the small village drew the eyes of many wanderers in the lands of Elysium. Soon people began to refer to Grimlar as the true leader of Avellino, the mayor Custar was not pleased. In his jealosy Custar shut down all the building projects around the city, he boarded up the shops, and he went on a long sea voyage to collect his thoughts. While Mayor Custar was away Grimlar gathered his tools and departed from the city by night. The young Nicolaus saw Grimlar as he was leaving and asked to accompany him on his adventure. The two men set off to the south, across the Forlorn Sea and through the Deserts of Argamorn. They finally reached a lush hill country and began to set up a small settlement.
When the merchants of Elysium discovered that Avellino had been shut down and that Grimlar had departed in pursuit of his own ventures they traveled for days from all over Elysium to visit the new budding town of Marsala. Nicolaus proved his worth as a mason building the tallest tower in the city, it rose above the skyline and was seen for miles. The government district was so extravegantly built that world leaders made a request that an embassy be built so that the allied empires could hold council in Marsala. Marsala grew to be the largest independant city in all of Elysium, and for good reason, the grass was simply greener in Marsala.

It was not long before some of the nations began grumbling amongst themselves about the fame of Marsala. Pandala, emperor of Eden sent his warlord and their men to pay a visit to Grimlar's peaceful city. Because Marsala had not been built to withstand an organized assult many of Grimlar's men were slaughtered and their fields set on fire. The soldiers of Eden began to visit more and more frequently and finally chose to place guards within the city of Marsala to maintain order. The people of Marsala began to leave the city, requesting a pardon from Eden many of them moved there. Soon Grimlar and Nicolaus alone maintained the city streets of Marsala. Eden held a council and united five empires under its flag and instructed all of them to discontinue trade with Marsala. Shortly after this agreement Grimlar took a stroll through the mighty city he had built, its empty streets a haunting memory of what once was.
That night Grimlar departed his beloved Marsala in search of new lands outside the borders of Elysium and the rule of Pandala of Eden. It was many years before Grimlar was heard of or seen again. Now Grimlar's story continues in a world of heros and epic architexture Grimlar seeks to rebuild that which was destroyed, this time he will not give it up so easily.
